I usually leave positive or negative reviews. This one is a negative. It was our own fault for staying longer than we should have. We were going to a show at the armory and wanted to get drinks and food beforehand. We got there at 5:15. It took almost 30 minutes to get a waiter to come to our table. Another 15 to get the drinks l. It was not busy until about 6:30. We put our food order in right away knowing it was probably going to get busy. Ended up going to the bartender twice to get drinks faster. We waited two hours and the waitress came up and asked if we needed anything else. We never got our food, drinks were slow, service sucked and we missed the beginning of the show waiting on food that never came. That place is a great location and could really be something someday but I don’t see that happening anytime soon. We watched two tables walk out because the food was taking too long. Their menu consists of tacos…not sure how long it takes to make a few tacos. Disappointing place and staff.

Definitely would not recommend this place if you have somewhere to be. We came in before a concert with about an hour and a half, hoping to get a little something to eat and some drinks. Sat at the bar for about 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. Ordered drinks and food at the same time and bartender/server had us pay right away “because they were busy” which I thought was kind of weird. Food never came. We ordered again, food still never came. We did get one of the items we ordered eventually (nachos, very mediocre). I absolutely would have left if we hadn’t already paid for everything. Had to request a refund for the food we didn’t get, and was given a cash refund (minus the tax) though we paid with a card. Weird experience, would not return.

The owner was extremely nice. Legit great service. We couldn’t find a bar before the concert at the Armory and stumbled upon this small atmospheric place and loved it. Sometimes the universe leads you somewhere and you get to be amazed by the experience. Come here before a show or anytime you’re in Minneapolis.

Wow! My experience here was awful. We stopped here for a quick meal before a concert that had a really long line. Anyway, we had quick service and were given the menu fairly quickly. The food prices were kind of expensive for bar food, but I figured it would have to be pretty decent in downtown Minneapolis. There were no drink prices listed, which is always a little sketchy. We ordered our drinks, and they tasted as if they had no alcohol in them. We ordered cheese curds and fried cauliflower because there wasn’t a lot on the menu I really wanted to eat. The food came out and the cheese curds were clearly frozen and deep fried. They were still cold inside. Then the cauliflower came out, and it was literally cheese and broccoli nuggets? Not at all what was on the menu. We are quickly and tried to get out as fast as possible. We asked the waitress for the check, and then a different random sever/manager came over to ask us why we were leaving so quickly. I told him it was due to poor quality, expensive food and also being given food that was not what we ordered/on the menu. He then told me, very sassily, told me to order some more drinks then. We were eventually given the bill and charged us a 20% gratuity for large groups. There were only two of us dining in, so we did not deserve that gratuity. Anyway, a truly awful experience, and I would never go again.

Friendly staff and good menu! The food came out quick and was excellent. Looks great on the inside after taken over with new ownership. And a patio for summer.

We went before a concert. Got there about 1.5 hours before the concert started. They were busy so we waited in line for 30 minutes. Once seated, it took another 15 minutes to place an order. The waiter never checked on us the whole time. We had to flag down another waitress to ask for another round of drinks. Took over an hour to get our food (cheeseburger and chicken strips) and they were not great. Ended up being over a 2 hour ordeal for less than impressive food and we were late for the concert. Several people around us left without getting their food because they were tired of waiting.

We stopped here before the Melanie Martinez concert and got some food and a quick drink, the atmosphere is adorable, the food is great and the service is amazing! They even played her music for us after they asked if that’s where we were going (:

We walked in for a drink before a concert at the Armory and were pleasantly surprised with the hospitality, vibe and drinks. Colton was our bartender and made us feel right at home (ask him for the Blue Barron shot which is to die for). Zia is a super fun spot if you’re looking to belly up at the bar for a a drink, have a night out with friends or to sit at a table and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere and full menu. We’ll definitely be back!

This is the best Latino place in Minneapolis for sure! The music is amazing, the drinks are great, the service is top and just the atmosphere in general is the best! I’ve been going for months now (this my go to latino place) and it keeps getting better!
