A friend and I stopped by the Bao Boys food truck at the Ann Arbor Art Fair. We were a little disappointed there were only 4 bao options to choose from but we understood that the full menu for a large event would not be possible. There was an option not listed on the Bao Boys website which felt like a bonus. There were only 2 people working but things moved relatively fast. The food was delicious and I will be going to the main location to try other menu items.

I am glad that I have bumped into this place and gave it a shot. It is perfect if you don’t want a big heavy meal, but if your super hungry then buy more food. Bao buns here are always great, soft, fluffy and just the right texture, I have never gotten a bad bun. They have several boa buns that can be picked with their options of meats, masubi, bowls and even fries. Everything is made to order so it will take a little bit of time especially if theres a lot of people here. Ahh, I forgot to mention this isn’t a standard restaurant facility but more like a food truck. But the parking isn’t too bad and it’s free. Everything that I’ve tried so far has been delightful and steaming with flavor. I’m sure you won’t be able to buy just one bun, try them all. They even have a vegetarian option with mushroom and that was pretty good as well. I’m seen this place slightly busy to full on get in line now busy. I think it can be worth the wait and if you want to hang around, there are plenty of seats situated outside.

I kept seeing these on TikTok and Instagram, so while I was in the area for work, I decided to stop and get some. I got the Chashu, Chicken Sausage, The Shorty, and the Shroomy Bao’s. They did not disappoint! They were also super quick getting my order together. I don’t even think I waited 10 minutes before they called my name. Totally worth it to stop and get some.

It wasn’t bad, but I didn’t really like anything I got either. The food was too salty for me and I thought the spicy pork tasted a bit like buffalo sauce, which I do not enjoy. It was a good thing they gave a lot of napkins though, since one of the bao buns fell apart.

My daughter asked me to buy her this, I had to drive for an hour and it was really worth it! The smell caught me since I arrived at the place, I love the simplicity of your menu, in the flavors there is the magic! And the price is reasonable.

I enjoyed trying the food here. The loaded fries were hands down my favorite choice. I tried the pork belly, chatsu and mushroom options. The buns are absolutely pillowy and amazing. The pork belly here is hit or miss. The last time it was definitely miss, which was disappointing. The other 2 options were great. I loved the mushrooms. I don’t like that they verbally ask people how much they want to tip – I think that tacky. The outdoor seating area is really nice.

I’ve had Bao Boys several times and it is consistently delicious! They have several wonderful vegetarian options. I do recommend getting there early because they will sell out of many of their menu items by later in the day.

First time here. Really good! The loaded fries were the vibe for me. I had a bite of my friend’s brisket bao – very tasty! Warning; they only have pop, no bottled water, unless you venture inside the restaurant.
