I haven’t been in this space since it was the beautiful Hamersley Bistro a decade ago. Although it couldn’t be more different, it is still a very nice space. It was pleasantly crowded on a Friday night but the bar did clear out by about 9.

This place is beautiful with great food and a super sweet host. Came here for the first time last night. The wait was 45 minutes but we were seated within a half hour. We ordered the wildfire for our drinks(so good) the chicken buns, bok chocolate, short ribs and sticky chicken. EVERYTHING was so good. Only thing I didn’t like was all the food had that sweet kick. It was still good but I wanted a strictly savory dish out of them all. I would definitely go back!

My family and I went to Banyan tonight to celebrate my sister’s birthday. We made our reservation for their beautiful patio (I love their bistro lighting!) at 4:30 so that we’d be able to take advantage of the Happy Hour dumplings. 10 dumplings for $5 is honestly an excellent deal — and they are fantastic. The service was superb and our waiter went out of his way to make sure we were enjoying everything. He even put a candle in my sister’s dessert. Thanks Banyan for making the occasion memorable for us!

We had an amazing time tonight sitting on the patio. Some highlights from our meal: the tuna crudo was so fresh and they balanced the lime yuzo flavor so well (sometimes those flavors can be overpowering)!!!

We went here for our Valentine’s Day date. First we ordered cocktails, all of them delightful. While doing so we also ordered pork belly Bao which came out in minutes, faster than our drinks.

This place is properly rated on Google. 4.3 sounds right if not generous! The ambiance of the restaurant is great, and the service was really good for the most part. However, the food was not consistent. The pork tacos had a weird taste (too “meaty” and not in the good way), the pork ribs were great (the best part of the entire meal), the avocado bao were also quite good, but the cabbage chicken wraps were so spicy it was impossible to finish them (and we usually tolerate spicy!). Not sure we’ll be back.

Banyan bar has a quality menu with varying options. Lots of small plates available for sharing – we had the smashed cucumbers that were fabulously spicy, the cabbage wraps, and the tuna poke bowl. Cocktail menu is pretty good, but off menu ordering was iffy. The space itself is gorgeous! Can’t wait for the patio to reopen!

Amazing restaurant in the south end! The atmosphere is very family oriented and relaxed while being outside… which is lovely to me but they also have indoor seating too. The food itself it’s absolutely tasty and well portioned. I loved their bao and the hot food was delicious too. The service was impeccable as well! Very well done establishment with everything you could want. 10/10 would recommend!
