This is probably the best place in Portland to go for a banh mi. Great experience! It looked like a to-go place. Lots of phone calls coming in for to-go orders. The person manning the front recommended the “Lemongrass Beef Banh Mi”. Such a great decision. The bread was soft, and not soggy from the ingredients. Very friendly service as well. If I crave a banh mi again – this place will pop up in my head!

We always make sure to stop at Banh Appetit when we visit Portland. The lemongrass chicken and beef are seasoned to perfection, and the baguettes are fresh! We’ve tried many other spots for this delicacy, and none of them compare.

We found this hidden gem on the way to Portland old port. I was a little bit hesitate in front of building, but the good reviews helped. Gosh, I’m so happy we didn’t miss it. We ordered BBQ Pork and Lemongrass chicken sandwich, both were delicious, the portion is generous, price is reasonable. We liked them so much, we went back and bought lemongrass beef sandwich, very tasty too. The iced tea and coffee are also good. Highly recommend, you won’t be disappointed.

I have NEVER in my life tasted anything as good as the beef lemongrass bahn mi. I didn’t even known something that good existed. It was fast & friendly service too. Thai tea was also AMAAAAZING. Never had one before and I couldn’t stop drinking it. Can’t wait to bring my husband here.

I have been looking for a banh mi spot in Portland, and my goodness have I found it. The service is quick and friendly and the food is sublime! My husband and I grabbed two cold cut banh mi and strolled the neighborhood without a word. We were way too occupied stuffing our faces with the amazing mix of meats, veggies, spreads and fluffy, chewy bread. We cannot wait to return and try everything!

Best banh mi I’ve had had on the East Coast. Coming from the OC with a huge Viet population and currently residing in the Boston area in close proximity to Boston Little Saigon, this is a gem of a place. Great flaky bread, delicious ingredients, and the mayo was too good. Can’t wait for my next trip back to Portland!
