Hadn’t been to a Mongolian BBQ in a while, and was really hopeful about this one. Sadly, it disappointed. I asked for sweet and sour with just a little heat (scale: 2 of 10) and the dish was all heat. It’s all I could taste. It came with fried rice, which was also disappointing-it was just rice and onion-nothing else, but had no flavor. Fortunately they had soy sauce.

I love this place. They used to be in garner and I used to go there almost daily.

I’ve been eating at Bali-Hai since I was a kid, at the original location in Raleigh before it burned down! It is just as good as I remember! The owner works at this one and was just as kind as I remember! We’ll definitely be back! I like that they do the sauce combination for you. Variety isn’t quite as large as I’ve seen at similar restaurants but I think the quality is better.

My husband used to eat lunch at the southern Raleigh location but has been missing out since getting a new job. We realized today that there is a new location in Morrisville, which is much closer to our home. Spoiler, it’s not EXACTLY the same, but we both loved our meals.

Great food! This was my first time eating at Bali-Hai, and I was pleasantly surprised. Loved the fact that there was an option for scallops, and they tasted great with the sauce and veggies! Also, the server was very friendly!

Get a lot of food for the money if you pack the bowls. I took my dog and ate on the outside patio.

I miss the old days of pilling it up high in two bowls. Spicy 13 extra sauce for the win.

The food was great, but gone are the days of bowl stacking. They now charge by weight. What’s worse, if you do not get rice, they charge $2 per pound more for your food. Not so good for diabetics or keto folks.

First time at this location, but I’ve been having Bali Hai since 1987! Same great taste and I recognized the owner behind the wok! Will be going more when they are open for lunch during the week. I always get a combination 8 with curry. You have to allow for a little variance (sometimes hotter, sometimes not) and I wish I could get more fried rice. I love the Bali Hai experience. If you haven’t liked it in the past, try to change your sauce request or the vegetables you put in. That’s part of the fun. BH used to be per bowl, but folks would cheat and smash the food into the bowl. I remember elegant stacking attempts to use only one bowl… I gave up a long time ago and went to two bowls all the time. I think by weight is fair.

Love this food and that they have expanded location. I use to only go to the Durham location but moved and now come to this location. Lower rating because there have been several times I have driven to get food and there is a closed sign up. Wish they would update their website to reflect when they will be closed on certain days. Not usually busy but the food is always delicious! Maybe people don’t know about it but it is worth a try!
