Today was my first time going . Very nice atmosphere. The food even better. I ordered the brisket with greens and baked beans. I don’t know if I was just being fat or not but I even got some fried okras . Boy was it good . After I sat there for awhile I was greeted by the owners, who were very kind to me . My waitress also made everything quick , I was eating in minutes. This place is blk owned and delicious. Good ol south cooking

The catfish was good. The “barbeque” was not bad food, but not decent barbecue. The mac and cheese, potato salad and cabbage were good. The beans were very sweet and extremely saucy. Cornbread muffin was dry and sweet.

Staff and management were absolutely awesome! Food was beyond delicious and everything tasted fantastic!!! If you’re looking for the best BBQ in town and love good prices I highly recommend you stop in for a bite to eat!!!

Awesome food! Chili was amazing. Wife raved about the pulled pork sandwich. Son claims he had best wings ever here. Triple threat meal was gone quick. Nachos were very well made & tasty. We will definitely return.

We considered ordering everything on the menu because it all sounded so good. Staff was wonderful. This restaurant has a great feel/vibe. We ordered Blooming Onion, Fried Catfish, Triple Threat, Collard Greens, Coleslaw, Dressing & Peach Cobbler. Everything was really good! It was the best made blooming onion EVER! The smoke flavor on the meats was perfect and all were very tender. We were delighted to get to visit with the owners before leaving. What a fabulous couple! We left thinking, that was some southern hospitality and serious comfort food. I’ll always be curious about the Chicken and Dumplings I didn’t order. And we will remember these ‘Pillars of the Community’, Roy and Evelyn, for their kindness and compassion for people.

I would like to say that the food and service was great, but since we never got waited on, I can’t. I told the owner that I saw her on Under the Radar Michigan and that was why we came. She told us to sit where we wanted. Someone brought us menus after about 5 minutes and that was the last time anyone came to our table. We watched at least 4 different groups of people come in and and get waited on and still no one came to even take a drink order. It was pretty clear that we were not going to get waited on, so we left. My son loves good BBQ and I was excited to take him and my granddaughter to the area the I grew up in for what looked like on TV, was good food. We should have a brought a camera crew with us and we may have actually been able to order some. We succeeded in raising our children to be non-predudiced, but I feel we were discriminated against because we are not persons of color. This makes me sad and disappointed. I wish you success, but I cannot recommend your restaurant after our experience there.

We were just passing through town and found this place on google and thought with the ratings it was worth a shot. We got brisket and catfish both with Mac and cheese and green beans. Mac and cheese was very reminiscent of Stofers microwave Mac and green beans went largely untouched. Brisket was rating 2/10 by the hubby but the catfish was actually quite tasty. Over all wouldn’t visit again.

Highly recommend. Mom had the pulled pork sandwich with a great salad, my wife had the pulled chicken sandwich with fries, and I had the catfish sandwich with collard greens. Everything came pretty quickly, hot, and excellent tasting. Need to visit again!
