The side dishes were especially great! The side of rice medley I got was huge! And really good! And the side of pasta was equally huge and hearty. My main dish – the clam strips meal – was good and an ample portion. Nothing served was fancy or incredible or exquisite, but everything was good and filling. The servers were all friendly and happy.

Balch’s is still the one restaurant that is consistently good. We have been going there since it opened. Food portions are very generous. Service is also very good. Happy that they finally put down hardwood floors in place of the rugs. You will enjoy this restaurant.

Balch’s is a cute local eatery. Grace was our friendly helpful server. The Wednesday special was baked haddock, sweet potato fries, and mixed greens salad with feta, craisins, and walnuts. It was so good! Dessert was even better. I had chocolate chip cookie dough brownie with peanut butter. It was a delightful meal! Highly recommend.

We really like the food here. It’s consistently good. It’s Oktoberfest all month of October, and their menu doesn’t disappoint. I didn’t give it 5 stars because it smells like dirty carpet inside. Needs a major interior update. UPDATE 3/22 They cleaned the carpets so it smells much cleaner inside. But honestly, it’s all about the delicious food there! It’s always great!!

Our dinner was fabulous. I had the broiled Captains platter which was shrimp, scallops and Haddock with a crumb topping. Our salad was cold & fresh. The cheese & crackers was delicious. My husband had the shrimp scampi over pasta with garlic bread. Our waitress was very attentive. We had fried cheesecake for dessert. Absolutely amazing.

Rain, Rain and MORE Rain…Where do I begin??? The ENTIRE restaurant staff was attentive, personable and present for our EVERY need. The restaurant was ADA regulated (a plus when traveling with an elderly parent). From the greeter Kyle to our server Erin and every staff member who passed our table ~ An absolute ray of sunshine! I almost forgot it was raining outside. The restaurant was friendly the LIGHTING was welcoming (large print menus – a plus), the decor set the atmosphere like I was dinning on a Pier or a Waterfront restaurant. A great selection of Ales and IPAs on tap – a plus! The food was SUCCULENTLY DELICIOUS !!! The Cheddar Horseradish Cream Cheese dip, Beet & Goat Cheese Salad, Lump of Crabmeat French Fries and we both had the Friday Haddock Special ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️~ Absolutely, We Will Be Back for the Horseadish Encrusted Salmon ❤️ ❤️ My Father and I had a Beautiful dinner at your establishment ~ Thank You Balch’s Fish Fry!!!
