Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood in Brighton, Balamao offers an enchanting exploration of authentic Thai flavors that is not to be missed. Introduced to me by a Thai friend, it indeed lived up to its reputation as one of Boston’s top three Thai restaurants.

Very authentic thai restaurant with friendly servers. The food is quite cheap comparing to other thai restaurants and the quality/quality that you got. Crying tiger is a must! Easily to find parking spot since they have their own parking right out front. Highly recommend!

Balamao has amazing and authentic Thai dishes, with great service and a really clean and fun interior. I would highly recommend the dishes we got: Tom Zaap Pork Rib soup (a great mix of sour and spicy), Kra Pow, and Pad See Ew. The Nom Yen (pink drink) was a great addition as well and was wonderfully sweet. I’m excited to know that I now have a really great go to for great Thai food in Brighton!

Look at this beautiful presentation for takeout ! Ordered one thing – the Crying Tiger – and it was soooo delicious. Loved that there were 2 sauces with some kick to go with it. I was a bit skeptical of the $20+ price point (with rice) but I’m already planning on ordering again soon

Ordered two pad Thai (shrimp and chicken) and spring rolls. Food had no flavor, pad Thai was dry and I ended up having some type of food poisoning which can only be traced back to the shrimp (my partner had the chicken pad Thai and didn’t have any symptoms). I would have loved to like this place, cause it’s quite convenient but I don’t think I’ll go back.

If you’ve been to Thailand and are missing the flavor not offered by your typical Thai restaurant here in the US, this is one of the few places I’ve been that has it. I’ve been here 3 times so far with my wife and some of her friends (who are all Thai) and we’ve tried just about everything on the menu (all so good). My favorites are any of the soups.
