If you are under the impression this place serves Mexican food, you would be mistaken. The food is alright, but it simply does not have the Mexican flare and seasoning that is required when cooking and serving this cuisine. Broccoli on and carrots on white rice is ridiculous and not a single onion or pepper in sight.

We loved this place so much, we got addicted! We ate in, got take-out and enjoyed their bar with more bites! They have Vegan options, vegetarian options and full blown meat options. I can’t say enough good things about the food, service and flexibility. The guacamole is to die for! I couldn’t get enough of their hard shell tacos with soyrizo, plant base chorizo. They have 2 entrances….off the main street and side street has a bar entrance. Great food! Do stop and try, you won’t be disappointed.

First, I’ll start with the good things:

We came in a lazy Saturday afternoon, the few patrons that were there dwindled down for an intimate experience. I had a very delicious Peanut Butter Trash Can *highly recommend* and the ground beef Baja Tosdada, partner had the Pork Po Boy special. Both were good, but the potential is there for them to be great!

Baja…if you aren’t open till 2am then you need to update your business hours. Stopped by @ 11:30 tonight and was told you were closed. Only reason I stayed in Staunton was to have a visit since folks said you were a must. Big party foul. Do business better.

We used Baja Bean to cater our daughter’s wedding. Sarah was so easy to work with and the food was amazing!

As i am sitting here eatting the chorio-pollo, the food is fresh but bland. Sadly on a Sunday Night nothing is open in downtown. If you are here for typical mexican food, not the place to come.

Hours say it’s open till 2. Called twice to try to get kitchen hours. Nobody answered, so i figured it must be busy. Got there at 9:40, was told i couldn’t get food because the kitchen closed at 10. It was dead, but when i pointed out the discrepancy, a 17 year old girl told me that’s how restaurants work. I’ve worked in food and beverage for 25 years. Will not go back and can not recommend it to anyone.

Went on Sunday and dined in the street. Burger was Awesome. The Peanut Butter Trash Can was on point. Wish they would have had an umbrella for shade. Other than that….. thumbs up .

What a great find! The device was friendly, attentive, with a small town feel. The interior is boldly painted in turquoise and sunshine yellow, giving a true Mexican feel.
