Don’t miss out on this hidden gem! Was in town for the weekend on a girls’ trip and we decided to stop here. And I’m glad we did! I had an iced mocha and it was perfect…. Not too overly sweet and not mostly ice. And $4.95 for a large…. Can’t beat that. The staff was very sweet as well

I’ve never had one bad drink from Backgrounds, and I’ve gotten A LOT! I like how the coffee beans are freshly roasted and ground. The atmosphere is also super welcoming, and the baristas are all very kind. I love to hang out at Backgrounds when I need a quiet place to work or to meet up with friends. They also have the most unique handmade gifts that are all made by Iowa artisans!

This is a perfectly charming coffeeshop with a great atmosphere for meeting friends, quiet working, or just hanging out. All their lattes are AMAZING!
