Back Street Sanford was very accommodating when we called to make sure they could seat our party of seventeen. They were happy to seat us upstairs or downstairs at the time we chose. When we arrived, they willingly added another table and chairs as our party grew. The wait staff even gave us separate checks. Everyone enjoyed their food and drinks. My husband and I both had the chicken cordon bleu which was very good, served with garlic smashed potatoes and carrots. We were able to stay from about 6:30 to almost closing, as it was a Thursday evening, and not very busy. Back Street Sanford was the perfect gathering place for our family from out of town.

Since I live out of town, it was my first visit since Paul bought the restaurant. I went to school with him. The staff was very friendly & helpful with the beer selection. The food came out piping hot & I was very satisfied with my meal. There was 5 of us & everyone enjoyed everything. I will definitely come back again!

Ordered take out, was told it would take 45 minutes. Ordered 2 French onion soups, a house salad with chicken and a flatbread…total was around $60. Soup was way too salty and had a bay leaf still in. Salad had brown lettuce, two croutons (had to add my own) and looks like a 6 year old cut the vegetables. Way better options in Sanford, won’t be back again.

Extremely overpriced. This is a truck stop diner trying to be fancy. The only decent thing was the onion rings. We had a variety of different foods, mac and cheese tasted like it was powered cheese. I got scallops and haddock, thirty dollars for shriveled haddock and three scallops in a soggy mess. The squash was over seasoned, sliced up mush. The beans were pre frozen. Waitress was rude, seemed like we were an inconvenience to her. I won’t ever go back. Terrible, don’t waste your money!

I came in for lunch today before I move out of town & just wanted to say that Peggy is absolutely AMAZING! She’s funny, sweet, quick & more than accommodating! These days it’s rare to find someone who truly loves what they do and from the second we walked in the door I could tell she loves it! Thank you Peggy! The food was horrible. The beer was flat, soda was flat. French fries weren’t cooked all the way, mashed potatoes were cold, green beans & meatloaf definitely frozen. The Caesar wrap had maybe 2 pieces of chicken & was DRENCHED in Caesar. The waitress/bartender upstairs was yelling across the lounge right by our table. It was a horrible experience. It’s too bad because they have a good looking menu, but the food was just awful.
