It’s not the best food, but it’s ok. The steak didn’t have that much flavor, but the potato salad and the beans were very tasty.

I was at back porch for the first time on my birthday. The staff was friendly and we had good service. The food came out fairly quickly once we ordered. I had the longhorn combo with hot sausage, ribs, and brisket. The brisket was done to perfection. The ribs were tough and could have used a longer cook, and the hot sausage was nothing special just a typical hot link. Along with the main dishes the sides I had were the cowboy salad and garlic parmesan fries. The fries were delicious. The cowboy salad I didn’t care for. To drink I had the back porch lemonade that was very good. When I eat BBQ I always think of cornbread to have with it but cornbread was not served at this establishment. They served sourdough bread with the BBQ dinner which to me did not seem like a very good cornbread. The best thing on the table I think that was ordered was the jalapeno brisket sandwich which I will be back to order. I will also have to try the chicken which is the only BBQ item I did not try.

The jalapeño brisket melt was quite good and the jojos were delicious. The au jus tasted like it was Bisto and was quite salty.

Very good Texas Chili Queso, Potato salad out of this world, The general BBQ was okay. Decent place to go to. I would definitely give it another shot though. Staff was kind of stand offish.

So we moved to this area from Roseburg a couple of years ago. There’s an establishment there called The Jersey Lilly that has been around since 1930 or so and it was one of my favorite places for food and friends. The Back Porch has the same vibe and I believe I have found a “favorite place”. The food is honest to goodness barbecue and it warms the soul. The staff is friendly and attentive. Talia is awesome by the way. I had the “Eastwood burger”, which is served open faced with chili, and my better half had the house smoked brisket French Dip. Both dishes were outstanding. I can see making this place a much needed hangout! Don’t drive past without stopping. A great time is guaranteed.

The staff was friendly, place was clean, food was so delicious even the soup stood out! It was slightly busy and wait time was pretty average but so worth it. The drinks were made delicious and not cheap weak. I didn’t have a child with me so not sure if the have a kids menu but it was kid friendly enough. Would recommend this place for sure!

Our Inn Host suggested this place as we like to find where the locals go (which tends to be the best). This turned out to be true. It’s very casual dress making it physically comfy, but the food was “eye-rolling good”. I felt like “Bob” in the movie What About Bob making yum yum noises that could embarrass anyone. I would definitely go back one day on another visit.

Ended up here due to long wait at another place but had planned to eat here based on BBQ reviews. Probably got the least desired table in the house, right off the kitchen/servers door so we heard plenty of loud coarse conversation from the cooks. I would chock that up to “atmosphere” but the food was disappointing. I had the Texas chili with a plain baked potato and fried green beans. Surprisingly, the fried green beans were the star of the meal!! Crispy tasty breading and pretty green beans. Texas chili does not have beans (I’m from Texas), but this one did. At least it didn’t have tomatoes in it but the meat seemed like an afterthought. Onions and cheese added little to it. It was “ok”. Two of us had basic baked potatoes. Must have been 1-2 days old or very over baked because both of them were just plain hard in 1/4 of the spud. With a lot of work, butter, salt and pepper, it tasted fine but it was very small and tough. I may give the BBQ brisket a try next time but if you can’t make a baked potato or real Texas chili then I’m suspicious of your pit boss too!

Servers and bartenders are awesome. Had a little tiff with the host last trip, but its always a good time here. Best BBQ in Southern Oregon, for sure.
