My wife and I stopped by on the way home on a Sunday night. Once we found it (look towards the end of the shopping center on the right) we got in pretty quickly and sat inside. I will say the tables and chairs looked plain but the food was great! I had the Shrimp Cocktail and it came out like a bowl of soup (very surprising) but it was delicious with a slight heat to it that seemed to come from horse radish like you would expect in a shrimp cocktail dish. I also ordered fries on the side and they came out hot and crunchy, also tasting very good. My shrimp were fresh and crunchy and very good!

Amazing was meal. The beans have just a hint of heat to them & a Smokey flavor. The salsa has a Smokey flavor as well. We visited here in mid Aug & temp was perfect to sit outside . I had the Huaraches and my husband has the ribeye. Our total meal was $53 ( + a tip).

If you are in the Taos area and looking for an AMAZING restaurant to try — this is it. We were seated promptly even though it was the middle of Memorial Day weekend and the whole town was busy with guests. Our waiter delivered drinks and appetizers almost immediately. He was patient with us asking questions about menu items and making sure our orders were customized to our liking. The food came out and it had very large portions for the price. The food itself was delicious – hands down one of the best, most authentic Mexican restaurants I’ve ever visited. Overall the experience was amazing, delicious, and great amount and quality for the price. We will definitely be back!

Fist of all, let me start by saying that we were very happy to find out that they were open on Sunday, no too many restaurants are.

We came across this place driving through Taos. It’s tucked away on a corner behind the main city plaza.

Staff was super friendly and knowledgeable and made suggestions for vegan options, which were not on the menu. We enjoyed the food—it was very fresh and flavorful. We had veggie fajitas and a burrito. The rice is made with chicken stock (FYI if you don’t eat chicken) which was helpful when ordering. Overall we enjoyed Azteca and would recommend to anyone in need of a comforting vegan meal in Taos.

Nothing at all to complain about. The owner was eating across from us when we came in. He was eating something off menu he made for himself and then offered to make it for us after we asked what it was. His creation of a tostada with grilled diced chicken and all sorts of goodies. It was fantastic! Will be back soon.

It cost $75 for 2 sandwiches, 2 burgers, and an order of chips and salsa. All of it was just bla. We all wanted to order a Mexican entree but everything was close to $20 for only 2 items and rice and beans. That’s too much for lunch IMO. We had to beg for water refills. I never leave less than a $10 tip but I did this time. Not sure how this place has nearly 5 ⭐️.
