When my children were still in school, I needed an outlet while my husband was finishing up his studies at the University. Cooking a lot among friends and their encouragements gave me an idea that maybe starting catering would be a good fit. Over 30 years later, and the restaurant speaks for itself. I ended up finding my passion and finding new ways to connect to the people around me in this town through my culinary explorations introducing Ann Arbor to authentic, locally sourced Turkish home cooking.
After 29 years we’ve gotten our formula down! Our customers speak wonders about our food, especially our red-lentil soup all over the world, and for that we feel tremendous gratitude.

Honestly pretty damn good food, although I will say that the menu is pretty small each day.

The restaurant was very cozy, clean and welcoming. The food was superb, particularly the extremely tender lamb, and the waiter was friendly and attentive. We will definitely go back soon!

There’s no way to not order the Turkish coffee just look at this pretty little mug. If you are a lamb lover, this is the right place for you. Lambs were cooked amazingly. Servers were very friendly and nice. Definitely worth going.

A hidden gem off of Plymouth Road! Great vegetarian options, the food is delightfully homemade, and the ownership is about as friendly as it can possibly get. I love being tempted by the handwritten menu they regularly post on their facebook page. If you like, Ayse herself will cheerfully help you with a recommendation. I’m only mad I ate my food before I could get a photo!

It’s a little like having a Turkish friend who’s mom invited you to join them for dinner. Check the photos to see a few of the shots I took while at Ayse’s. I liked the Allspice Chicken I ordered today. It’s served with rice with vermicelli, and I added the red lentil soup. The Ground Lamb with Eggplant entree looked pretty solid as well. They have a variety of cold desserts, some actually quite healthy. I can’t say enough about how delicious and healthy everything is here… and so different from the usual dining spots in Ann Arbor. I’ll definitely eat here again.

Haven’t been in since the 1990s, but plan to be back often! Outstanding food, great service. WONDERFUL! The lentil -potato stew was fantastic.

SUPER delicious food, clean and quiet environment, and their lentil soup slapped!! It is a little bit pricey but totally worth it.

The address of perfect, delicious, traditional Turkish food. Menu changes daily, which is also amazing since you have chance to taste different food.
