It was good. My taste palette is a bit diverse for this restaurant. My dish needed more seasoning and sauce. The broccoli did not have butter or any kind of seasoning and the rice tasted like the boxed uncle Ben’s rice. It just wasn’t for me & a bit on the pricey end for that kind of food.

We were there during Clayton Restaurant week. Each of us had different specials. Everything was delicious and one was truly innovative. The desserts were extraordinary. I asked if it would be on the regular menu, and they said they would consider it. The chef is excellent. The courtyard was a beautiful place to eat. They were short handed, but just about everyone is these days

Went here for dinner, we enjoyed our experience. It was good, but not great. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the service was attentive and friendly, but the food was overpriced. We started with the lobster bisque which tasted like clam chowder. It wasn’t very creamy and there wasn’t much lobster. I got the short ribs which was the most expensive entree and I read other reviews that recommended it. The crispy potato was like a giant tatertot and the green beans had absolutely no seasoning on them. The short ribs were tender and the sauce was flavorful. It was good, it just wasn’t $40 good. My fiance got the burger which was tasty and a really good portion. While we had a pleasant experience we probably will not return. For a $100 dinner I would expect more memorable food.

Omgg our server was amazing. The bartender was fantastic. The footloose was delicious. We went for lunch on cino de mayo. The margaritas were devine. So fresh. Also the other cocktails were delicious. I mean everything from the soup to desert was just great great. We will be back.

Michael was our server and he is so great! I couldn’t decide between the steak frites or the half pound burger. He suggested the short ribs: delicious! In total we had the short ribs, Caesar salad with smoke salmon, and chocolate mousse with the house made vanilla ice cream. All of it was delicious. We can’t decide which is better: the attentive service, the food, or the calming atmosphere. So if you ever need dinner, be sure to step off the street and into Avenue.

Outstanding sandwiches with a touch of elegance. In door and outdoor dining, although outdoor is noisy right now due to construction. The menu has reasonable depth and many old favorites with a twist.

Their brunch gets 4 stars, but dinner gets two stars. Brunch was fresh, with generous portions, and a but pricey. Their French toast of the day was BlackBerry and super yum. I loved their chorizo quesadillas with the salsa, it was hard dip it with such a small ramican. Breakfast potatoes seemed simple but were perfectly cooked and well seasoned. I was pleasantly surprised. As for dinner, I was completely underwhelmed by the beef short ribs. They were adequate enough, but nothing spectacular and definitely not worth the $30+ price tag. Service was very slow on both occasions. Worth going for brunch, but pass on the overpriced dinner.

The Rainbow Trout was incredible – I’ve never had such a flavorful fish dish like it! Service is also great and everyone does their part. 10/10 recommend!!

We’ve tried Avenue twice now, once for dinner and once for brunch, and I think it’s safe to say we probably won’t be back. Food is just ok. Almost everything at breakfast was bland except the potatoes. The pancakes were also pretty good but I feel like you can get pancakes almost anywhere.

Decided to come here for Clayton Restaurant Week and oh was it worth it. Immediately greeted by the friendliest staff in all of St. Louis. Had a wonderful 3 course dinner (the cinnamon ice cream was my favorite part). Multiple people checking on us and making sure we were having an enjoyable experience. Will be back in the future!
