What a disappointment. We ordered the boneless chicken biryani, chicken 65, chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. I specifically told the person taking my order that I want really good Indian style and he said don’t worry you will like it. Well the food was missing any masala taste and chicken tikka masala was terrible and typical of the preparation style here in the South Bay I’ve seen at other Indian restaurants (this one being worse). The chicken 65 was bland. When I put the chicken in my mouth there was no burst of flavors or anything like that. The naan was extremely thick more than other places so didn’t seem too good. The biryani was ok probably the best dish out of the other dishes. Lastly, I was annoyed at the service I received I paid a 15% to get service and they just brought out our dishes and told us plates were over there for us to get. They didn’t come by our table to ask us how the food is and didn’t offer to give us boxes so we can pack the food (we had to go to the counter). Not a good experience and it’s ironic below their sign it says experience the real flavors which was the opposite of what we experienced.

The food quality is good and family pack quantity is also good. Family pack dum biryani came with four chicken pieces, two of them were drumsticks. Raita and Salam were very tasty. When you buy family pack Biryanis, one appetizer, choice of the restaurant, is free. To have pot Biryanis, you have to preorder them. They only available on Fri, Sat and Sun. Biryani didn’t contain much of masala. The only masala was available on the chicken. It felt like just plain basmati rice. Chicken 65 might have been tastier , if it had more salt and spice. Overall, the food was good.

The menu at Avachi is limited, with many items crossed out. Try the chili pakora, for appetizers. We had the chicken special briyani, and the vegetarian briyani. They came with a watered yogurt. We had to ask for chutney, which was also watery. The briyanis were OK in taste, and good sized. If you have never been, try Avachi. We will not try again.

Avachi is definitely my go-to spot for dining in Cupertino. I eat here at least once a week, recently it has been twice a week, don’t tell my wife. Whenever I visit, I always make sure to order everything double-spicy – it’s just the perfect way to really satisfy my cravings and heat things up a bit. The flavors are absolutely incredible, and I always leave feeling completely satisfied.
