We were seated at the 830 seating just before closing at 9 (was a bit worried about that) but the staff was very friendly especially since we had our 3 month old with us. The food was absolutely amazing. We loved the dates so much we ordered a second round. My steak was cooked perfectly and the family style sides were great and allowed me to try everything. Highly recommend.

Exceptional food. The red deer loin steak was amazing. Very great presentation of food, the room itself was not very impressive but the food more than made up for it. The lavender lemonade cocktail is great a must have, and the espresso cheesecake is a great close to a fine dinner experience.

Awesome place! Food was great, very nice service and we almost had it to ourselves. They did a great job on all of the sides and the steaks were really nicely done. The sommelier was very helpful as well. It made for a very good meal.

The only reason why I don’t give August E’s a 5 star rating is because the aesthetics of how the restaurant is set up inside could be A LOT better. Reminds you of a banquet type of set up… too open and not intimate for the high-price menu.

Great place for my last dinner in Fredericksburg. You might want to make a reservation if it’s Friday or Saturday night. Everything was just right. The Chilean sea bass was so good! Turns out I’m not a huge fan of cinnamon, so the apple dessert with ice cream wasn’t a top 10 for me, but the ice cream was just enough to make my brain know I had dessert. I would definitely go back.

The mixed grill plate of venison, boar sausage and quail was so good! And we loved the potato leek soup with mushrooms! Wow! Waiter Chris answered all of our questions and was very helpful!

We decided to do one nice dinner during our special engagement trip, our mistake was going to this restaurant. After having okay service and being sat in an awkward location in the center of the restaurant, we tried to make the most of it. Once the food arrived, we noticed very quickly that my fiancé had the wrong meal. He brought it to the attention of the server who said “oops sorry I put it in wrong” and gave no solution. He didn’t know what to do so he just ate it. She never ever came back to the table. We had to ask to other staff members to box up our food and to check us out, one of them literally laughed at us with the other staff. Not cool. Other people in the restaurant did not look happy either, just frustrated. When we got back home, within a couple of hours, my fiancé got sick from the food. He didn’t drink much so we know it wasn’t that, he is very upset over the experience and isn’t quick to get upset. This felt very unacceptable in my opinion. Do not go here, especially for a special night.
