Indulged in both the burger and fried chicken, and I must say, excellence was an understatement. The burger easily ranking among one of the best I have every tried & each bite was amazing. As for the fried chicken, it was a crispy and succulent & I really enjoyed the sauce they put on it. To top the cherry, The staff’s service & attentiveness also made the experience great. Highly recommend eating here!

Always lives up to the hype. One of the best burgers in Chicago, no question. The bone marrow and salad were amazing, although the marrow was mostly fat, it was still delicious with the toast and jam. Next time will be trying the fried chicken.

My husband and I put our name down for first available seating and got seated at the bar. We knew we would have to wait but we were quoted 45 mins and sat down in 30. The open concept kitchen was really fun to watch. The food was OUTSTANDING. Definitely try the Bone Marrow and Chicken Liver. I can’t wait to come back here the next time we visit Chicago!

I’ve heard for a long time about the greatness of the Au Cheval burger. Today was the day to give it a try. We arrived at the restaurant 15 minutes after it opened and it was already full! After a short wait, we were seated and dug into some VERY tasty french fries (pictured with fried egg) and a very tasty burger as well. Is it the best in Chicago? I don’t know, but it is a very, very good burger. Place has a great vibe and the service is terrific! Loved my meal here and will happily return.

Best burger I have ever had and excellent staff! I went solo and they sat me at the bar right away and got my food to me within 10 mins. At the bar, I got to see them prep everything too! An exciting feat and delicious food. I would highly recommend and they keep the line moving.

OMG my mouth is STILL watering over the absolute best burger I have ever had! Wow, just wow. The combination of flavors this burger brings together is absolutely outstanding. Order it with a fried egg and bacon. You’re welcome! Drinks were made from scratch and delicious, and General Jane’s Honey Fried Chicken is a must-try as well. Fries with garlic aioli made one of the best meals I have ever had complete! I drove all the way from Virginia to try this burger, and I will absolutely return!

Great sized burgers, and extremely fresh and juicy. Full of flavor. Service was very efficient and attentive. Garlic aioli dip with the fries was full of flavor, and the Ernest Hemingway cocktail was very very good.

Was happily surprised to find a spot at the bar right away on a beautiful Sunday around 11am. Very fun sitting there watching the cooks work their magic and crank out the food. The fried bologna sandwich was sliced thin, piled high, and melt-in-your-mouth AMAZING. Not quite like the bologna you remember from childhood! I’ll be dreaming about it tonight. My husband got the single burger with the bacon and egg added. Outstanding. Don’t forget to split some fries. Very tasty with an incredible garlic dipping sauce! Can’t wait to go back.

It’s true what they say, this is a really good burger. This place has so many good reviews so I’m here only to confirm the service and food is still good. I wish their burgers were charbroiled instead of gas but I’m just nitpicking here.

One of the absolute best burgers we have ever had. My husband had looked up best burger in America and saw that this spot was rare #1. When we decided to make a trip to the area, this was our first spot and it definitely didn’t disappoint! The burger was perfect amount of juicy, the wings had incredible flavor, and we couldn’t decide on the potato side so we ended up with both fries and hash browns. If you’re torn between the two, they’re both good, but go with the hashbrowns. I cannot remember our server’s name but she was so bubbly and great and was helpful in helping us navigate the area as well. We can’t wait to return!
