Nice food! But I thought the quantity did not match the price.

Located 10min from the Greenville downtown. We heard about this from a friend and went with him to try as we love Afgani food! I’m glad that we went!

I went to this restaurant based off of the Great reviews. The service was super quick and the lady who served me could not have been nicer. I ordered takeout but funnily enough, they don’t have menus. She explained that they make new and different dishes everyday for lunch. So, I just got what they had on offer for the day which was a beef “kabob” a chicken “kabob”, rice and two sides – red beans and cauliflower. The kabobs weren’t as I expected, as they weren’t on skewers, and there weren’t any veggie pieces with the meat. They were chunks of beef and chicken just laying on the rice. The beef was delicious and the chicken was good too. The rice was very plain, as were the beans (no seasonings whatsoever). However, they did include a small container of garlic and herbs in what I think was olive oil and I was told to pour that over my food before eating, if I wished. I was so hungry that I forgot about it and only tasted it afterwards. It was really good and it would definitely have enhanced the food. The price was $16.90 including tax. It filled me up. I’m going to tentatively recommend this restaurant although I will need to visit again to give a true thumbs up….or down.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE! The owner, Nelo, has her own cook book called “The Afghan Table” and has created all of these dishes herself. Her daughters are usually working the floor along with her husband. The whole family is so sweet and kind. The menu is small but the flavors get better and better. She has vegan and vegetarian options as well so there’s something for everyone. They serve halal meat which is really nice. The restaurant itself has a charming traditional Afghan style with beautiful Afghan music playing in the background. It’s always clean and well managed. I come here any chance I can! There’s ample parking in the front and back of the restaurant. Try this place and don’t be afraid to step out of your bland American tastebuds. You won’t regret it!

I tried the restaurant for the first time over the holidays and I’m glad I did…delicious food and fast, friendly service. The lunch is a set menu with meat and vegetarian options, and they both come with soup and a big piece of naan style bread. Everything was fantastic! The chai tea was delicious too. I’ll definitely be back.
