Excellent ribs! You won’t go wrong. Plenty of parking. Ribs slide off the bones. Comes with dipping sauce, beans, slaw, and a roll

When I googled “Best rib tips in Memphis “, TripAdvisor navigated me to Arnold’s BBQ. After reading the reviews, I immediately headed out to discover for myself if the information I’d received was a fact.

I will never go back to this establishment again Not only did I have to lose a whole lunch hour waiting on my order, that I called in 15 mins. before leaving my job and another 15 mins. driving to their restaurant. I spent 30 minutes in the parking lot waiting on them. Here’s where it gets good, they charged me approximately $30 for one slab of ribs[meat only] and the slab for two with four sides is less. On top of that they got rude about me questioning the price Then the ribs didn’t have sauce and they didn’t provide anything to eat the food with. I WAS a dedicated customer but I refuse to give you my money and you treat me like a peasant. So in closing I would like for you to view attached photo.

I have driven past the Arnold’s BBQ location on Shelby Drive and Ross Road a number of times. Today being hungry and in the area, I stopped in and placed an order for a rib dinner. The rib dinner came with beans, cole slaw, and a roll. NO SUBSTITUTES allowed. During the 20 minutes that it took for the food to be prepared,, i couldn’t help but to read all of the signs posted around the restaurant establishment, ie…for example, “Check your food before leaving,, no refunds.”

The ribs were really good. Soft and tinder. Tee was my server and she’s very funny. I would recommend it.

I placed my order @11:09 am and they said they’d call me when it was ready. At 11:45 I called and they said the order wasn’t up yet they were cooking it. I canceled and they immediately called back and said it was ready. The food was so cold and soggy. It had been ready the whole time. They lied when they said it was cooking and would be ready by the time I got there. I paid $18 for cold soggy fish. I wouldn’t recommend it.

This restaurant is the worst I’ve ever been too. They deserve zero stars. This was my second time going there. The first time I went I requested for a refund before they even started the order because they charge to put the sauce and coleslaw on the side $1.50 (.75 cents each). They also charge to change the side of the meal you get. So if you want fries and it comes with beans you will have to pay extra to change it to fries. This time I ordered a jumbo beef brisket sandwich and it was $12 for a small San which only with little meat. They are way too overpriced will not be back again. It’s sad because I want to support the small black owned businesses but this is too much. Better off going to tops or somewhere else. At least there you can pick and choose what you want with your meal without getting charged extra for it.

It’s the customer service for me. I asked about a refrigerated item and she immediately said, “I’ll have to get that for you”. Ok, I dismissed that and asked about rib tips…they were out. The lady seemed annoyed that I needed to look at the menu and asked questions after I told her I needed a minute. Meanwhile, she was super cordial to the people picking up orders…geez! I ordered and was not impressed. They’re scared you’re going to touch something, but people are allowed in without a mask

I called my order in when I left work and I was told that it would take 35 to 40 minutes which was fine because I understand it’s the weekend. But what got me was when I waited in the parking lot for over 35 minutes and went in to pay for my order, the young lady told me that they wouldn’t prepare my order until I paid for it. When I asked how much longer would I have to wait, she told me that it would be an extra 20 minutes at the least which is absurd. All of this could’ve been avoided if it was explained over the phone when I put my order in. I refuse to wait an hour for an order that I expected to be prepared. This is a new restaurant that I anticipated on trying and it was spoiled before I could even taste or pay for it. I would recommend other patrons to go ahead and pay for your order as soon as you get there because if you don’t you’re going to be waiting for at least an hour which I refuse to do. Poor communication and poor customer is what’s causing me to NEVER have the thought of patronizing with this establishment again. I really hope that they work on a solution to where they can be more efficient and productive.
