It’s not easy to find comida Venezolana in Wisconsin so this place is a hidden gem. I say hidden because they are in the Brookfield Square food court, occupying the space of a former chain restaurant. Most of the “food huts” lining the common dining area are empty now, but this little spot is brilliant. Food was made after I ordered, so it’s fresh, not sitting around. I got excellent service from the gentleman behind the counter and the food is spectacular!! It’s worth the trip inside the fast-declining mall to eat here or get it to go. Chef’s kiss!

Holy cow! Stopped here on a whim (I’m never at the mall) and was so overwhelmed by how tasty the vegan arepa is! Service was great, fresh lemonade was delicious, and the entire place is well kept. The gentleman that was working was very kind. I will definitely be coming back, I wish I knew this gem was here sooner

First time there an I’ll most definitely be coming back. Absolutely amazing and authentic Venezuelan dishes. Ordered the Yaracuy and it’s full of flavor. The fried plantains are my absolute favorite. So simple but yet delicious. Arepa’s Place is most definitely a gem hidden in Brookfield Square.

Quality, tasty food found guilty in the Mall’s Food Court. I ❤️ empanadas so when i saw this place there was no way I wasnt going! Expectations were low since it was in a mall food court…but i was wrong! Empanadas are made fresh (they literally flatten the dough fresh, fill it, & fry it up) the dough is moist thick & sweeter than im used to with other empanadas. I thought it was an “adjustment” to aid in the process of making fresh empanandas. But, I was told this is typpical Venezualen style of the empanada dough. Food was not too sweet, salty, or over fattening. Fillings were chicken, beef, or pork…and again seemingly non-processed. Like they cooked and shredded the meat off the bone. Dinner was served wit blackbean, rice, & perfectly ripened fried plaintains. I will definitly be back when in the area. My only wish is they come up with a non-typical fountain drink selection.

Find gluten free goodness at this amazing Venezuelan place in the Brookfield Square food court! Arepas are usually gluten-free and I verified with the owner that these are made with no wheat flour. The version served here is as authentic as they come. We tried four different flavors: chicken, pork, beef and black beans. All were stuffed to bursting with delicious, clearly fresh ingredients. The meats were all succulently juicy and mildly spiced. The black beans also had plantains (which the owner graciously prepared on the grill instead of in the fryer to keep them gluten free). Everything was delectable. Since the arepas are made fresh when you order, you might have to wait 5-10 minutes but it’s well worth it. I suggest you sip a cup of their passion fruit juice while you wait, golden refreshment that is so much better than any of the sodas you’ll find elsewhere.

So good! We got the first arepa on the menu and a chicken and avocado arepa and they gave us an empanada to try. It was really fun to try Venezuelan food and so delicious! I loved the cilantro sauce omg I’ll be thinking about it for days. Lots of nice cozy seating around the fireplace. It’s in the Brookfield Square food court across from a local Indian counter serve that also looks excellent. We’ll be back!

Hard to put into words how great Arepa’s Place is. We hired them to cater our wedding reception with their empanadas and the feedback was phenomenal. Everyone loved the empanadas as well as the food truck vibe. The empanadas were fried to order meaning hot and fresh when people were hungry. The pricing was also super reasonable for the food + truck compared to “normal” wedding food–and this was much better than the normal wedding food 🙂 We cannot thank them enough for being part of our special day!

If I could give more stars I would. The food here is second to none! How they don’t have a stand alone restaurant is beyond me. The food, variety and MOST IMPORTANT…. THE FLAVOR… Oh the flavor…. I just simply can’t say enough good things.

The best food you can get in Southeast Wisconsin, let alone the mall food court. This place is legit. Milwaukeeans unite and keep this place in business, this place is awesome!
