Unfortunately, I wasn’t very impressed with my experience. I reserved a spot in advance from my phone, yet there was still quite a wait. Once I did get a table, service was quite slow to respond to me. They were busy, and I understand that, but I was close to wanting to leave because no one was even coming to my table to bring me a water after quite some time. I don’t know this for sure, and I’m only speculating, but it felt like bigger tables received attention, but the single person with a much smaller ending check (means smaller tip) was neglected. Once I was tended to, I ordered. The sales that came was quite lame. A $24 steak, and the salad had no cheese, croutons, cucumbers, nothing. I received wilted lettuce that was partially frozen, and dressing. That’s it. Was expecting more from $24 steak and a place that was nice. The Mexican cheese balls were pretty good. The steak was a bit tough, and dry as well. There was juice on the plate, so I could mop ghat up a bit, but not sure where it came from, because the steak itself was was fairly dry. The cheesy hash browns were ok, but again, it was cheese slices, instead of grated cheese. This is a low budget diner way to make cheesy hash browns. A nice steakhouse should be grating cheese, instead of using Kraft singles. It’s very possible that I could have a better experience on another trip, but the lame salad and cheap cheese option would still be there, even if the staff paid attention to me and the steak was tender and juicy. I’d be willing to try it again, but I’m not excited to, nor is it on the top of my list. Too many good places around that get my attention, but it’s not out of the question.

All in all awesome. What impressed me the most was the server I had, older lady always on the go. Never stopped once and everything was always topped off. Definitely old school server.

Our family had a fabulous experience. The restaurant is using a website to take reservations and you just keep moving up the list. While this may be inconvenient for some, I now realize the experience is worth it. Just plan on spending some money and eating a few calories. It is worth every penny.

Oh, my. I absolutely love this place! It’s like the old supper clubs that used to be in our area in central Illinois.

New York Strips were fatty and bland. Cheeseballs were very good, and waitress was very nice and helpful. But the other ones in the kitchen who kept eating and then grabbing food/drinks while we could see them is a big reason why I dropped down from 4 stars to 3. That is crazy management allows that to happen. Got there at 5:10 and place was full by 5:45.

Great food, friendly service & very clean! I ordered the Grilled Salmon that came with steamed broccoli & rice pilaf (tartar sauce & lemon widget on the side). Also came with a nice size salad & baked potato. They bring out a tray with carrots, celery, sliced pickles & cheese cubes… everything was delicious! We sat at a table that was considered high traffic area (this was our choice to sit there) it wasn’t bad at all because our waiter made it very enjoyable. Mike was super polite, friendly, attentive, speedy and accurate. The restaurant does get busy when open at 4:30 pm but it’s worth the wait! Thank you Mike for making our experience so pleasant & enjoyable!

Love this place. Steaks were super tender. Our waitress was super friendly. Came in from Missouri and they got us right in. I thought their relish tray was pretty neat.

Very, Very disappointed. We were mislead into believing the hype about Archie’s Waeside. We made multiple attempts to call ahead to book a table. The calls were not answered, and using their archaic phone answering system ultimately leads you to a booking online system? Really? When we finally got there, I walked in and I asked how long it would be for a table for two. I was informed a minimum of 30 minutes. When the hostess mentioned that, I sort of glanced at all the empty tables around the restaurant, to which I said ‘okay then’. I think she could sense my displeasure as she then suggested they had a table open immediately in a high traffic area. Whatever. After being seated, we were giving paper disposable menus to look at and told that they were to double as placemats. The menu was very bland and unimaginative. We ordered the $31 ribeye and the shrimp and scallop plate. Before the main course we were served a plate of oddly cut chunks of cheese, squared off carrots, celery and pickles. With no dipping sauce of any kind. Also, they did not serve any sort of bread. The salads that came were absolutely the most boring house salads ever, there was no garnishment of any kind. Unfortunately, things only got worse with the main course. The ribeye steak, which they claimed on the menu to have good marbling was absolutely layered in fat. It was one of the worst looking cooked piece of meat I’ve ever seen. It literally was bloated and had a gray hue and there was an oily/watery discharge all around the plate. Not only was it a poor cut of meat, there was little to no flavor or taste to the steak. The shrimp and scallops plate was par to a fish sandwich at McDonald’s. The batter was soggy with deep fat fryer grease and the taste I would compare to a fish that I could catch myself in any lake. The drive and effort to get there and have this meal was without a doubt not worth it. Overall recommendation, look for somewhere else to eat. Thanks Janet!
