Food was great! The entryway, restrooms, and everywhere that had tile floors smelled like a soured mop. It was disgusting and wafted through the restaurant. Our waitress complained about how busy she was but it seemed like the other waitresses/waiters were much more attentive. We had to go searching for silverware. Our waitress also took a smoke break when it was time to pay so we had to wait. Another waitress, I wish I had gotten her name, was super helpful and so sweet! She had tattoos and green hair and had the best personality! We actually handed her a tip because she deserved it!

Working in town and stopped in for dinner. The hosted seem confused on seating for two. The waitress, Michelle was pleasant and exceptional. When our food arrive. The ribs were cold as if they were sitting on the fridge, the honey bbq sauce was bland, the ketchup had more flavor. The Cole slaw was mediocre. Will add this to the places not to eat in Elkins on return trips

My food was cold. My plate was hotter than my food. Pretty sure they put the mashed potatoes on my plate microwaved it waited for my steak to finish. Tried heating my macaroni and cheese in the microwave as well because that bowel was very hot but the noodles and sauce were not even room temperature

I wish I could remenber our servers name. She was amazing and remembered us from our last visit 4 months ago. I know it’s a small town, but we aren’t from here. I had sworn off all Applebys due to bad experiences in Memphis, Shreveport, Bossier, and San Antonio. This was my wife and I restaurant since we were dating 13 years ago. This server changed my mind.

The food was basically average and what you would expect other than my burger which was cooked exactly as I ordered and was great. The server was friendly and did a good job.The problem was the overwhelming “hot trash” smell that overwhelmed us. The place stunk horribly and from the appearance of the dirty, worn, grease soaked carpet it was apparent that it was the source of the smell. It was very hard to enjoy food in such a setting. I’m in no way a smell prude or anything of the sort. I consider myself a bonafide Hillbilly with a pretty high tolerance for what most people would call gross or nasty and have eaten the occasional dropped on the ground hotdog when camping and barbecuing, but that carpet was absolutely foul and we won’t be returning unless we hear news that the Elkins Applebee’s has done some carpet renovation which sucks because this Applebee’s has some sentimental value for my wife and I because it was where we had our first date years ago.

There’s not much of an expectation when you go to Applebee’s. Its a national chain and should be the same pretty much everywhere. Unfortunately in that’s case it wasn’t the best showing for the brand. The white/red slab of what I presume was cow meat was supposed to be a medium rare ribeye steak. I’m going to tell myself that it was. It tasted alright, but definitely wasn’t something that I’d get again. The garlic mashed potatoes on the side were not bad. Just a bit bland and overly soft, like they were made from a packet and used too much water.

This place in Elkins WV has the best people working for them.. they care about you and what you like. It was a great atmosphere and great seating. I would recommend this place to everyone. Our waiter Greg was so friendly ge went out of his way to make sure we were satisfied with our food. He is a very good hearted person who cares about each person that came into the place.

It’s all about the Food served cold soup we had to return, spinach dip? Returned it. Waited for the double burger showed up one uncooked one patty was cooked. Chef must have had a bad night. Server was good tried his best with what he had to serve.
