So this place has never been great. It’s been decent, serviceable, but that’s about it. It’s been a while since we’ve stopped in and it’s gone downhill. They’ve remodeled it, which you’d think would make it better. However, they’ve shortened the menu, upped the prices, and you order at the counter. There’s not much great left on the menu at a decent price point. Honestly, not much worthwhile left overall.

The food quality hasn’t changed much but you no longer get real plates, silverware, or real cups. It’s all Styrofoam now. There are also no longer waitresses. Fries are no longer included with your burger, they are an extra $3. So unfortunately this will be the last time I will be going to applebarrel. They don’t even bring your appetizer before your entree. You get it all at once. I know it probably seems petty to some of you but truckers understand the frustration. I know they do because while my husband and I were sitting there, several walked in, saw the change and walked right back out.

This place is too good to be in a truck stop. No one seems to know it’s there. Home made everything, great coffee, low prices, friendly staff. Go for the food and low prices. Atmosphere is clean, standard tables and chairs. 1 of 2 best food in the city.

VERY Friendly service! The lady working there was extremely nice. I was thinking this would be more like a “restaurant” where you sit down and place your order but it was more like a food court style. You go to the register and place your order, get your cups to serve your own drinks, pick a table and wait. The food was okay- not great…it was basically an overpriced truck-stop.

Very good food! Highly highly highly recommend the spicy cheese curds, they are deep fried and served with ranch, an absolute taste to remember! The lady at the counter was very very friendly too 🙂 my only complaint is I feel like for 7 dollars, you dont get as many cheese curds as you should get

Our server was Cara. She was super friendly. The food was delicious. We had a party of 11 and the food got out very quickly. I would definitely eat here again.

This place has come along way. I have stopped her many a times. Had breakfast this time. This cook knew how to make hashbrowns. Blew my mind how good they were. Even better than waffle house hashbrowns. Keep it up.
