I had the Pork Chop Gra Pow and it was really good. The chop was tender and juicy and the veggies were sauteed to perfection with just the right amount of spicy kick. I thought the chop could have been seasoned a little more, but overall it was a great dish. I had the rice pudding for dessert and it was worth the price of admission!! It was crazy good. Consistently delicious food with pops of flavor, whether you go light or indulge. The Poke Bowl and Yellow Curry are my go-to dishes. I also enjoy the Lao Iced Coffee, which tastes like a darker roast brew and not particularly sweet (unlike a “Thai coffee” that is very sweet). This is where I go at Strang Hall for a Brussels Sprouts appetizer/side now that Minglewood is gone. Some solid vegetarian options on this menu, and you can also add meat to those dishes if you want.

One of the best meals I’ve ever had. I ordered the sticky rice plate with crispy pork belly and the forbidden rice pudding. It came with the sticky banana leaves, two hot sauces, and Asian spicy papaya salad. I loved that the sticky rice was wrapped in banana leaves and def made it more fragrant. The crispy pork belly was well cooked and not too hard or oily. The papaya salad was excellent and I absolutely loved it. For dessert, the forbidden rice pudding was absolutely amazing. It was not too sweet, but satisfied that craving. Highly recommend and can’t wait to go back.

One of the best eating experiences I have had in the city yet. String hall offers a great variety of food, but we have found one of our all-time favorites at this restaurant. The food was great very flavorful, and the service was amazing. We would highly recommend trying it out.

I ordered the sweet potato noodles (no shrimp). Since I didn’t want any seafood/meat with it, I appreciated that they gave me a slight discount on the $16 meal, though it still feels pretty pricey for a fast casual/food hall location. I hadn’t realized that it was a japchae-inspired dish so that was a pleasant surprise. I wasn’t expecting so much good Asian-inspired cuisine in KC, so I’m happy that they exist! It was pretty tasty, though it didn’t blow my mind. I would definitely come back to Strang Hall to try some of the other eateries here, and I’d be open to ordering from Anousone again too! Several other people in my party ordered from Anousone as well, though they had a less favorable impression of the bun rice noodle bowl and hearty yellow curry, so your mileage may vary.

Wow! What an amazing experience! My husband and I went for valentines day. We didn’t realize how it all worked at strang hall, so we ordered our food to go so we could find a spot to sit. Needless to say, Anourone saw us struggling eating out of the to go boxes. He came over and got us, and reseated us at the restaurant, even had the staff replate our food, and added a side and dessert to our meal! He was very personable and made the night absolutely perfect! The food was spot on we will definitely be going back.
