I wanted to like this place after seeing it being rated a 4.4/5. Unfortunately, the only thing I enjoyed was the waiter. The food was just not good. The naan was too thin, did not taste super fresh, and lacked a good amount of garlic. The cauliflower wasn’t bad, but I wish it was more cauliflower and less breading. The lamb biryani was very flashy with its bread pot, but unfortunately the lamb was dry. Lastly, I ordered a dish I got at another Indian restaurant that I really enjoyed. To my utmost dismay, it was the worst dish of all lol. Shouldn’t have gotten it… and I really shouldn’t have went here at all.

Best Indian food I’ve had in NYC! Staff was great and super friendly. They also have an amazing outdoor area out back, one of the best on the upper east side. It’s quiet, relaxing and clean unlike the side walk dining everywhere. Perfect for a nice night. Would highly recommend!

It is our second time here. We came from San Antonio Texas. First time got here just looking for an a Indian Cuisine place and loved it! This time we came with friends and they loved it too! Different Flavors, excellent service and overall great experience. More than %100 recommended.

Probably one of the worst gobi munchurian I have ever had. The gobi munchurian costs $10 and they give like 5 pieces. It also tastes so bad. They gravy is awful. Everything about it is so bad I just don’t want to even finish it. So not worth $10 I don’t know who thought this was a good idea. They put the paneer tikka masala in a container with a broken lid so ofc during delivery, the curry got to all the other items. The garlic naan was fine. The paneer tikka was alright. Slightly hard paneers and sorta bland with really really thin gravy but it was not inedible or anything. Would not recommend this resturant for vegetarian food. I am sure you can find better.

I order from here frequently and enjoy the quality and service. Staff are always very friendly. I really like their samosas, the Rogan Josh, and Goan. Nice place for an intimate meal or something casual.

Our server was super swell and recommended Taj Mahal lager with any meal. He wasn’t wrong! We enjoyed our time on the back patio very very much. The portions left us full and pleased. At the end we got some dark sweet balls that were delicious. Yum yum yum! A nice time indeed.

I had a Kerala Boatman’s Crab Curry delivered and explicitly mentioned, strictly NO OIL. And this is what they delivered. Curry that was floating in Oil. It was also stinking like, I was in a fish market. I immediately left it at the trash room outside, so the house would stop smelling. Not sure, why every curry is floating in oil in NYC

A new addition to the neighborhood. Attractive, comfortable and cozy decor. Wide menu selection, good food and helpful and friendly staff. Top this off with value prices. If you are a fan of Indian food, definitely give Anand a try.
