I had heard some mixed reviews about American Deli prior to stopping in today for lunch. I’m one that will give any place a shot and base my opinion on reviews plus my own experiences. Yes, the place is located in one of the older building on Capitol street and as you can expect it could take a little interior work. The food and service on the other hand was spot on. Friendly greeting from cashier and she assisted me with the menu. I ordered the 10-piece boneless “mild-hot” wing combo. Reasonably priced for the amount of food you get. Order came out quickly and was accurate. The wings had great flavor and fries seasoned perfectly. They have a good selection of other food items and drinks. Worth another visit down the road.

The prices charged are not the same on the board and the customer is not told so. I tried to change my order to a meal because of overcharges and was refused to change it.

I order lunch from Doordash. The food was OLD, BURNED & COLD HOW AND WHY WOULD you let anything that look like this leave your restaurant. The HEALTH DEPARTMENT really needs to start looking at restaurants reviews.

The restaurant is set up for social distancing. My order was promptly taken and my food was made fresh. I ordered the lemon pepper wings and french fries. The lemon pepper is a wet sauce and it is delicious. Try the lemon pepper wet sauce on your french fries as well. They also have three different flavors of Kool-Aid. Yes… Koolaid. The tropical punch was delicious. Hopefully I can get back soon to try more items. I devoured my food before I remembered to take a picture, my bad.⁷

It was my first and last time here. I visited last week. I waited in line for 15 minutes behind one person. We were the only two customers there. I went on my lunch break. The cashier and another employee where changing the drawer and counting the cash in front of us and having sidebar conversations while we’re waiting and was part of the problem. Then one of the employees is cursing and talking loud to someone on the phone right beside me. Im in shock at the unprofessionalism. The customer orders her food after minutes of back and forth about the prices. I finally get to the counter to order and don’t get my cup. I have to ask for my cup and my receipt. I get my food after waiting 30 minutes in line and go back to work to find a long, black, synthetic piece of hair in my wings!!! My lunch break was over by then and I had to throw away the entire meal. I spent $20 on 15 wings and fries to have to throw it away due to ill-prepared workers. I will never go back.

Waited 30 whole minutes for 10 simple wings… only 4 people were ahead of me, they got their orders, plus the 5 or 6 people that came in after me… but my simple 10 piece order still was not ready… not to mention I got a parking ticket 30 seconds before I walked out the door, which I would have never received had my order been ready on time… oh yeah and I peeked back in the kitchen area and there were like 7 workers back there laughing, playing, and dancing—after that I got so frustrated that I got a refund and LEFT!! Worst American Deli location EVER!!!

Been eating here since before they were here at this location 105 capitol st. It used to be in the food court of the metro center Mall! Great wings and the peach punch is outstanding! Gotta love it! All smiles from me
