Went to the Ambro’s Bar and Grill and was pleased in every way. The place is looking good, and has well priced drink specials. The weekend live music was awesome, a great place to meet friends and have some good eats. The food is smokehouse originals. Pulled pork, smoky cuts of meat, all cooked until they fall apart. I had to have the house specialty Smoky Beef Manhattan, and I was floored by the flavor. My wife had the tenderloin, and it was huge, dwarfing the bun. The breading was crisp and tasty. Simple menu items, done up well! I don’t always visit Terre Haute, but I’ll put this joint on my list of favorites.

The food is great! Friendly staff, and the owners are awesome! The Smoked Manhattan plate was absolutely delicious and was plenty to eat! I will definitely order other meals and recommend others to stop by.

I recommend the hurricane shot. Very nice bar for socializing. The best pizza in the area. Also they have some extremely fair priced specials through out the week that includes buffets. I had bar food when I was there and I can say it was the loaded nachos I’ve had in Terre haute to say the least. The beef was perfect. !!!!!Urgent!!!! (ONLY ASL FOR THE LOCALLY MADE HOT SAUCE IF YOU ARE USED TO HEAT OR JUST A BOSS WITH A LITTLE PAIN). Definitely gonna be a spot to be for me.

Heard a lot of great reviews but went I stopped in at 3pm place locked up. Sign says open at 11 to 11. Really disappointed as I had driven in because of reviews and advertising opening time. Wish they had courtesy to post a note explaining why no one home. Came back for second try a day later. Receive apologies from waitress for them being closed due to mechanical problems. Todays meal lived up to the five star rating. Great tenderloin, real onion rings, fish sandwich and tater tot.

My wife and I made a special trip to get either pork ribs or the roast beef Manhattan. They both looked so good on the TV commercial. Only to find out the Ribs aren’t served for lunch and the Manhattan isn’t served until after 5 pm. Nothing on TV states anything about special times or days. My fish and fries were very good and were served hot. My wife had pulled BBQ chicken and was very satisfied with her meal.

I used to love Ambrose when I used to run karaoke there now it’s turned into a totally different bar I mean to food is all right the service was good sometimes I just don’t like certain people to go in there and it’s not my kind of crowd but other people may like it, just sayin.

Stopped in for a quick lunch and because I’ve been wanting to try their lunch buffet for a moment. I haven’t been in Ambros since the new owners took over and when I walked in I was amazed. The restaurant is clean and spotless. They have great decor, booths and tables as well as a bar area and a family dining area. The picture on the front west wall was breathtaking and worth the view alone. The waitress was nice, courteous, and made sure our drinks were refilled constantly and that our table never had a dirty plate. We tried the pizza buffet and it was completely worth it. They had a BBQ pulled meat pizza that was absolutely mouth-watering and different in its own aspects. The meat was smoked and tasty, easy to pull, the BBQ sauce was a good consistency and wasn’t overly strong. All in all this was a great lunch stop and we will definitely be back by for another visit.
