Madison St. in Eau Claire, WI was built by Walter Brewing Company in 1881 for distribution of their beer and the establishment has stayed as a tavern uninterrupted every year since! (Yes even through Prohibition!) One of the oldest continuously operating taverns in the Midwest, as Amber Inn Bar & Grill Inc., has been family owned and operated since 1981 and is An Original Bar and Grill with the best HALF POUND burgers and friendly service for all ages!

If you like a tavern atmosphere, you’ll love this place. They have several varieties of hamburgers. I had the Mushroom Swiss Burger and it was the way it should be. It looked like they had a variety of different beers and other beverages. They also have fish fry on Fridays. I would go back if I happened to be in the area.

8/20/2022 called to place my order and the staff was very nice, especially when I called back asking if my burger could be well-done, they said that the burgers are usually medium well. I really appreciated them taking the time to do that for me. They didn’t ask what I wanted on it though, but it was just kinda quick ordeal of me trying to let them know. It ended coming with cheese, lettuce and tomato. Tasted great, had a good amount of toppings, a thick burger and a good bun and I ordered a side of tater tots, also great just wish I had Cajun seasoning or something to go with the tots. Overall I was happy with my order

We come here regularly for the burgers and would argue they are the best dive bar burger in Eau Claire. Nothing fancy about this place, but a classic dive bar feel with amazing burgers. Even the kids love going here.

Fabulous burgers (try the breakfast burger). Prices were reasonable for the large portion size. You need to serve yourself at the bar. Bartender was accommodating and professional. Drinks were reasonably prices (soda water was a bit flat though). Would definitely return. Very neat decorations are on the walls. Our table was super sticky despite being wiped off (perhaps need a refinish on the table top?).

I was really excited to try this place as it has amazing reviews. I looked up the only menu’s I could find online for them and also looked on their facebook to no avail. I called and was told they don’t have any recent menu online anywhere. Such a shame that theres no menu for people to peruse before they go there or to utilize for pick up orders.. if you guys could add that, I would definitely order from you guys but I dont want to have to go sit down there to see the menu and then wait to bring my food home.
