Lots of great food for those around me. I simply ordered a Ceasar salad with grilled chicken. Unfortunately I was told my chicken was dropped and I was served my salad…see picture for laughs on the alleged “salad”…they finally came out 10-12 minutes later with a new salad but at that point I had already eaten my “salad” minus the chicken of course. I was the last one to receive my meal. NOW, that is just my experience. Everyone else was served delicious looking food. The 2 stars is based off MY experience. The waiter did say he would remove my salad from my tab. Based on everyone else’s experience this would be a great 4.5 star review, but this is based on my experience. Friendly atmosphere. At Check time, the waiter had a tough time getting the tickets right, even though we reviewed the ticket with him various times.

Amazing dinner with friends. We had guacamole, grilled artichoke hearts with a spicy peanut garnish, tortilla soup, shrimp taco, rib eye with mashed potatoes and a hamburger with fries. Everything was so delicious. Can’t really pick a favorite. Wish I’d taken photos because the presentation was also first rate. Definitely recommend.

Service is 5 star but the food is not worth the high price. Walk a little bit into the downtown area and check something else.

This place was lovely. My boyfriend and I celebrated our anniversary and had a great experience. The host greeted us and made us feel welcomed. Our server Brian was very professional and friendly. He educated us about the menu as it was our first time. Would highly recommend.

The service wasn’t as on point as we would have liked. A lot of time spent waiting to order. So drinks and food came out too far apart from each other. It was a busy night, so it was understandable. The food…the food was phenomenal. It was beyond delicious. Browsing through the Tequila menu is a must, ordered a shot of Don Julio Primavera…absolute heaven.

Very delicious food and great service! I had the tenderloin with mashed potatoes and asparagus. It was all mouth watering good. I shared the tortilla soup and loved the presentation. The soup was delicious too. Highly recommend. It’s pricey for me personally but definitely worth it when I want to treat myself.

Celebrated my birthday at Ambar with my family and good friends from Tucson, fellow USC Alums, Oscar Parra and his wife, Eloisa Vega. We were very fortunate to be joined by Eloisa’s sister, Concha, a nun who was given time to be away from her order in Italy in order to attend her sister’s funeral San Diego. Ambar provided a nostalgic atmosphere for our reunion, especially since Oscar and I grew-up in El Paso. It was a great location for dinner and conversation. We didn’t have to compete with the background music. After dinner we went on a self-guided tour to the terrace of the historic Plaza Hotel where Ambar is located. We also walked across the street to visit the famous Paso del Norte Hotel and it’s terrace where people used to gather in 1920 to watch the Mexican Revolution along the Rio Grande/Rio Bravo.
