Great little spot in Pittsboro. I just love the atmosphere of local diners and this one didn’t disappoint. Dogs were solid. Amazing flavor from the slaw. The dog, chili and bun could all have been a touch warmer but all had good flavor. Really liked the fries. I’ll be back.

I usually don’t review takeout. But I was in town and tried the chicken salad. omg it was so good. I haven’t had the chance to try the other items on the menu, but I definitely will be back.

Al’s is a fun friendly place when you’re passing through Pittsboro. A good old-fashioned diner, great food, huge menu, friendly staff. This place is a no-brainer.

I wish I could go 5 stars, but I just can’t… After two goes at the flounder, no more for me. Thinnest of a fish filet with heavy breading. It’s clearly not a fresh piece, either. Stick to the county cooking food here, and you will be just fine! Their fried squash and okra are the best.

I had a tasty big hot pancake today that was less than $4. The tenderloin was fried crispy and delicious. We had the works breakfast in a bowl sausage, grits, cheese, onions and 2 eggs over easy.

Under new ownership for about a year. I was impressed with my recent visit. Had a Fantastic breakfast. Giant Biscuit made in house. Locally sourced country ham. Real white gravy with pepper. 2 eggs. Hash brown diced taters. Way more than I could possibly eat. And the kicker? Priced at $8 !!! Currently unbeatable. Al’s RULES

Great staff but, service is sometimes slow. But the food is great. I love the country fried steak biscuit. The last few times have went before, the biscuit was crunchy that is the only reason I give a 4 star. Overall experience of visiting this establishment is great.

The waitresses do the best service that I have ever seen! The waitresses are timely and proactively early when it comes to coffee and water refills. The food is good–even the hash browns when they come to the table lukewarm–and the prices are even better! A must try…Good whether you dine-in or do drive through takeout. The lines are justified…

Great food with excellent service! I’ve had the steak tips with onion rings and mashed potatoes with gravy and another time was the chicken salad croissant with fried chips. Both were great options! They also have a drive through, which is busy all the time.

All I can say is country cooking at its best. We had the beef tips and onions, It was so good the only thing wrong with them is I didn’t have a second batch. Very good country mashed potatoes and gravy. The chicken salad is very good especially on their croissant. Their foot long hot dog is the red country hot dog reminds me of my childhood but very good. I’m going to try to get pictures of the food, But after smelling this great food on the way home it doesn’t survive that long for picture.
