A wonderful restaurant that elegantly presents delicious, inventive dishes. They cheerfully accommodated my vegetarian wife (the menu offered no vegetarian entrees at the time we visited). I will warn the trader, this place is pricey, but you get what you pay for.

Service was excellent. Staff had in-depth knowledge of alcohol and menu which was helpful when picking our wine and dishes. Food was delicious but portions were too small for the price. The menu was a bit deceiving. The porterhouse lamb steak was really one lamb chop, the potato portion was basically one mouthful and the vegetables were 1 carrot, 1 asparagus and 1 slice of squash all for 47 dollars! Appetizer portions at expensive dinner prices.

I will GLADLY share my experience. This place is an absolute GEM. I dont know a restaurant that treats you as well as the employees inside Alexanders does. You are treated like gold from the moment you walk in. The servers, the management, the front staff are all EXCEPTIONAL. They make you feel like the spotlight is on you for the evening. Clean white tables, always fresh silverware after each course, VERY attentive to refilling water and drinks. The food is BEYOND WORDS. I could go on and on. Run, dont walk, to Alexanders. I promise you there will be zero disappointment. Thank you Alexanders for giving us a most special night for our daughters college graduation! We will 100% be back!!!! This is now one of our favorite restaurants EVER!!!!!!

Fortunately we opted to get off the interstate and spend a night in Roanoke VA, try and see a bit of the town. We overnighted the Liberty Trust next door to Alexander’s so we didn’t have to look far for a restaurant! That said, we did do a walk around, window shopping the available restaurants and were happy to find ourselves back at Alexander’s. Looking in from the street the tablecloth set tables appealed as did the subdued atmosphere. We entered, were politely met and seated, ordered my drink (my wife does not) and immediately soaked in the ambience and soft music… great stuff after a long day’s drive. They only offer one salad which my wife and I thought a stroke of genuis after all, do one very well vs. any of 8 marginally. Never mind we live in an era of taste testers who find joy in sending salads back for being either over or underdressed… not at Alexander’s! I won’t bore you w/ dinner except to say dinner and dessert were great and let’s not forget the wine list… their sommalier knows his stuff and has constructed a tasty but budget friendly (vs budget busting) range of wines to choose from. All and all, we highly recommend Alexander’s, you won’t be disappointed.

We had the lamb ragu and lamb porterhouse. For a starter, we both ordered the crawfish bisque. Food was amazing and service was even better. Definitely one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. Will definitely return! Thank you for a lovely evening!

Excellent meal and excellent service! Had the duck and my boyfriend had the steak with gorgonzola. Prepared very well, vegetables cooked properly and everything perfect! Look forward to our next visit to Roanoke to come eat here!
