A hidden gem, literally. This resturant is tucked away under the train tracks. Believe it or not but you cannot hear them either. Alcove’s dining room was modern and clean. The menu had an assortment of options. Drinks, appetizers, entree, and desert was all fantastic. Look forward to coming back!

The Alcove has excellent service and food. We ate there yesterday and had a wonderful dinner. The drinks, beet salad, rack of lamb and halibut were really good. Plus, Nick, our server, was friendly, personable and attentive. The nicest thing was the chef made chocolate souffle for us even though it wasn’t on the menu. In addition, the busboy was wonderful. He was also very attentive to our needs. Don’t miss this restaurant!!!

The good part about this restaurant is the food. It was delicious, and top quality. Loved the scallops, halibut, and lamb. Props to the chef!

We’ve been occasionally visiting Alcove (formerly Chef’s Station) on special occasions for 10 years and have never been disappointed. Chef Elio’s menu is simply elegant, and everything is always delicious. We were taken care of by Ellie last night, who was absolutely delightful and such an asset to the restaurant.

I represent restaurants. We went to Alcove for my wife’s birthday, as we wanted a local place. The remodeled decor was very nice, and the room was really comfortable. The food was beyond excellent – each and every dish. Although I have read reviews knocking the service, on our visit the service was excellent. The only knock I have is, after spending $200+ for dinner (without alcohol, bringing a special bottle of my own wine for my wife’s birthday and paying corkage), we split a desert. While the restaurant, and wait staff, was fully aware of the birthday celebration, asked us to choose desert, and put a candle in the one desert we picked, I was shocked to receive the bill and find that they charged me full price for the desert – they didn’t comp it. Someone should tell the Chef/Owner the finer points of running a fine dining restaurant.

Best dinner in Evanston on a Sunday night. I had tuna tartare, cheese tart, and briased short ribs. 2004 Dom Perignon to celebrate our 40th NU reunion with classmates. 2017 Darioush Cabernet Sauvignon! And Grand Marnier souffle for dessert!

Came in for 2 nights from New York. Wanted something intimate and well reviewed for my birthday. This was an amazing choice. All 3 apps were fantastic and I explicitly enjoyed the duck breast main course temperature chefs recommendation. Absolutely amazing.
