First time here, I just got back from Syria not too long ago so we all know how serious Syrians are with their shawarma. But this did not disappoint. The chicken shawarma was so delicious and authentic. The sandwich is really big so the portions are generous. It also was priced really well. I will be back!

This probably has been the biggest shawarma I’ve had in a long while. It’s the closest thing I’ve had to a shawarma back home in Damascus. The chicken was cooked to literal perfection and dripping in yummy meat juices. The bread tasted fresh and for the sub $15 price range I would definitely order this again.

I went on a Friday afternoon for lunch and it was the only busy food truck. I got the shawarma al Arabi and a Turkish soda and it was good. The chicken shawarma Al arabi came with sliced shawarma, fries, coleslaw, a sweet/spicy sauce and garlic sauce. The chicken shawarma was good and juicy. The fries were PERFECTION! And the Turkish soda was like a clear-colored vimto. The garlic sauce was more like yogurt with little garlic taste so I mainly used the spicy/sweet sauce. They don’t take card; cash or zelle only. The meal was a bit pricy; $17 for one shawarma plate and a drink. But still good and tasty.

Food started tasting not good at all, quality and quantity started becoming bad. We asked tahini sauce in the sandwich and all what we had for was tomato sour sauce, whole sandwich tasted like lemon. Their was hardly any beef in it. Almost half of the roll had only salad in it. It was all bread and tomato salad. Too much lemon and tasted sour. They put too much sumac inside. The meat was dry for all the sandwiches. This is the third time they don’t take the orders in correct even after repeating it several times. It doesn’t even show it in the receipt like to add extra tahini sauce. For two sandwiches they took over 30 mins, we don’t mind but waiting for a long time and not getting what you expect the third time. Don’t think I will return back.

As an Arab who was born in raised in Amman, the capital city of Shawrma, I could say that Al Shami is by far the best in Houston and could strongly be compared to the authentic Jordanian Shawrma!

Sadly this place opened a few months ago and used to be good , week by week quality dropped down had a plate two days ago , salad weren’t made that day , pickles had the white color which means they old enough, owner needs to keep an eye on the truck in order to stay in business.
