Ordered from this place on Grubhub. The restaurant delivers it so your order can’t be tracked on Grubhub. Delivery was around 15 mins late from Grubhub’s delivery time. Food was not the best. I got the two roll lunch special (salmon avacado + eel avacado). Salmon roll was falling apart, and the eel avacado roll had about 90% avacado, 10% eel.

Very good lunch specials for the price. Place gets busy during this time, noticed that a lot of take out orders were slamming the 3 sushi chefs but they seemed to be handling it we. Still got my lunch special, 3 Maki rolls, relatively quick. Very tasty and satisfying.

The food is fresh, with well balanced flavors and delightful combinations of textures. The specialty rolls are scrumptious eg Chef’s Roll w/ the whole deep fried soft shell crab. The fish slicing, and rice layers are grievously amateur, but very generous in portions and ingredients. The wasabi was strangely old. Appreciably great quality of food for the price, if one can stand the unusual selectively premised rudeness of the service.

Went to Akimoto Sushi with 4 friends and the 5 of us could barely fit into the restuarant. It is scarce on space, almost claustrophobic, so don’t plan on staying too long. The food was pretty good. We got the lunch Salmon and Chicken Teriyaki bento boxes, crab salad, spicy crunchy shrimp rolls, tuna sushi, miso soup, salad, and green tea. The establishment seems to be family owned as the waiters were two young boys, both between the ages of 11-15. We paid about $80 to feed 5 people which is a bargain in my book. All in all, it’s a no frill Sushi spot. The food is good, the portions are decent and the prices are extremely affordable. Do not expect stellar service but do expect to leave quite satiated with change to spare.

Dinner time is sushi time for me so next I tried this sushi place on church st. In Manhattan and found this ordinary place has some extraordinary creations on their menu which was yum! Decor and ambiance of this place does not impress you but my order made up for everything else. Good food , must try if you are on a budget in NYC!!

Wow, exceeded my expectations!! I got their ‘sake don’ which is 12 pieces of salmon sashimi over sushi rice, and their ‘salmon lover’ which were 9 pieces of salmon nigiri + 1 salmon roll. Each order includes miso soup or salad.
