Haven’t been here in a few years. Was happy to see that their quality and service was still on point. Sashimi was very fresh. We also got 2 spicy salmon handrolls (forgot to take a pic until we got to our last bite) – big full pieces of salmon and not the grind up one like some places). The pork katsu had the perfect amount of crunch and not overly oily. The meat inside was not hard or dried. Ikura was fresh but also a bit sweet compared to others. We had wanted the Hamachi kama, but they were out so we got the Hotate Hokkaiyaki. This was done very differently compared to other places. It wasn’t bad but not something I would get here again.

Aji is, hands down, the best sushi place in the Boston area. Their ingredients are always super fresh and their food is absolutely delicious. Everything we’ve tried has been amazing. Their staff is welcoming, friendly, positive, and always so nice. If you want sushi, or any Japanese cuisine, this is by far the best place to go!

FINALLY a decent sushi joint! We have been searching and searching for a fresh, and good quality sushi joint and Aji seems to be the place. Maki’s were very fresh and tasty. We ordered take out so cant talk about the dine in experience. We tried Torched Salmon, Torched Tuna and the one with Mango and they were all excellent. I will try again soon and we will see if it was a one off thing or not.

Sushi was delicious! We also got a Tempura combo and the tempura shrimp was great but the tempura veggies were not very good. The miso soup was average and the ginger salad was a little disappointing. That being said, everything was made fresh and the service was great! We will definitely be back but will stick to the sushi.

Good, not great overall. Dressings both above and below the tuna overwhelmed the fish in the Special Tuna Salad. Fish served with Chirashi was fresh and portions were satisfying, but the sushi rice was just a disappointment. Table service at 6 PM was slow with a busy dining room. Noise levels were moderate.

Great food quality and taste. Definitely the best sushi in Newton! Surprisingly even the vegetarian options are fantastic, specially the shiitake mushroom tempura maki. For the non-vegetarians, highly recommend the beef teriyaki & spicy tuna maki.
