Let us begin with this… I love history. As a veteran, I like learning about places, its history, and eating well too. This place is a classic diner with a twist. I ordered the Bomber burger, the kid wanted pancakes. We came here on a whim, seeing I wanted to eat. Being as we are not far from home, I was delighted to pop in here. I have seen and heard it mentioned, so why not. Our waitress, Kaylee, was on point and sweet as could be. Definitely worth a visit if you can.

This is a really cool place to have some food and watch planes. Great for kids as they stay very entertained by the activities outside. The food was just alright but the staff was friendly and helpful. However, when they say they close at 2, they mean it. I would argue not to even show up if it’s 145.

This place is great to visit for the setting of the dinner and its location. The menu is filled with many delicious options and the names of the entres are fun. We recommend the Bravo Lina Tango and the meatloaf. We drove one hour to get there, but we definitely are coming back at the next opportunity.

First time here. Located right on the runway of the FBG airport. You can watch the aircraft taking off through the many large windows. Looked like an old fashioned diner and we enjoyed that. Shakes and malts made there, which also made it have that old fashioned feel.

Food was great. The chocolate malt was poured into a nice old fashioned shake glass along with the metal mixer container 2/3 full. Full meal deal all by itself. The sweet potato tots were excellent. Dipped them in 1000 island dressing. Burger was well prepared and I liked the sour dough bun…had a sweetness to it. I added 1000 island and ketchup to the burger. I grew up on burgers with as many different unique sauces as there hamburger joints. You knew where you were by the flavor of the burger…So, no matter the quality of the burger, and these are most excellent, I gotta have a sauce. We loved watching the private planes come and go. Mostly diner customers. Great way to cover ground in Texas.

We wanted to go somewhere different for Easter and this place was open. It’s an adorable 40’s diner right next door to the Hangar Hotel and immediately adjacent to the Gillespie County Airport aircraft parking ramp. From the booths, you can watch airplanes and other aircraft come and go. The food and service was good and so was the coffee. We arrived at the tail end of breakfast time and our waitress hustled to get our order in for us in the nick of time. Next time, we’re going to try the burgers.

First shot at a TikTok spot and was pleasantly surprised. Cool diner and a great way to get out the the city for some good food. Nothing memorable to taste but a great blast from the past with a warm retro ambiance, the friendliest wait staff and planes literally taking off in front of you while you eat! It would warrant another shot because maybe I just don’t agree with sourdough bread, but the cool feel of this place will bring me back.

We come here every trip down to Fredericksburg. My son loves looking out at the airplanes! The service is always polite and swift on the coffee refills :). The 1940s style of the diner makes the visit extra spectacular! Can’t wait to return on our next trip!
