I was searching for a sushi place in New York and this place happened to be close by. The food was great for how cheap it was and in Manhattan, quite a deal to be honest! Glad I stopped by this cute little restaurant. I would recommend it if you’re looking a quite a cheap and good sushi place. The shrimp tempura was my favourite sushi choice here.

2 stars for the service.

If you come only for the skewers and maybe the sake, then it might be a good choice. But if you do care about other dishes like the sashimi or bento, and maybe the service or other kinds of stuff, I would recommend you somewhere else.

We had an amazing time dining at Ai Ki Ya NYC! Great atmosphere, delicious food, and excellent service. We ordered Sukiyaki & Soymilk nabe lunch, unagi don, pork katsu with miso sauce as well as potato salad. Everything was so good and tasty! My absolute favorite would be the pork katsu with miso sauce – crunchy & juice pork katsu dipped in sweet miso sauce. So perfect! 10/10 would recommend!

Chose this place specifically because their kitchen stays open late (12:30 AM) and I was very pleasantly surprised by how good the food is here! We ordered a large variety of items and everything tasted amazing and was cooked perfectly. The American Wagyu skewer was probably my favorite but the eel roll was also very good. The king dragon roll was also amazing and had gold leaf on top! I ordered the mango chuhai for my drink and it was delicious and had bits of fresh mango in it. Would definitely recommend this place for a late night snack/dinner and drinks.

It can get really loud in here as it seems popular with the young crowd. I had a few skewers but they honestly didn’t taste much different. I did like the chirashi bowl came with a little uni and had plenty of fish. The quality is reasonable but not amazing and the portion is large for the price. They have sushi to skewers and shabu so everyone should be happy to eat something there

Came here after a show on Friday night. The chuhai was only $7 and tasted so good (much stronger than expected too). The food was also very good skewer was unexpectedly juicy and the prices were responsible too. 10/10 would recommend

Good taste! Recommend the Unagi Don for two and beef intensity with scallion. Last time, we tried the cotton candy A5 Waugh pot, loved it!
