TOKYO TO PORTLAND
We are proud to open our first location outside of Japan. Reasons abound for us to introduce our style of ramen to the Rose City, however Portland offered us something no other US city could; soft water from a pure source within close proximity.
Much like Mt. Hood, the Afuri mountain in Japan has long been revered as a sacred place of harvest; the unique geography creates ideal spring water, perfect for ramen making.
Portland’s ecosystem produces nearly identical beautiful water to that of our Japan locations. This water quality combined with the bounty of Pacific Northwest local farms & producers, allows us to create the highest quality ramen and Japanese cuisine available.

The staff is friendly and the food is extremely delicious. Fried chicken is just fried about right. The dumpling is extremely tasty. Ramens are extremely well and soups are not too salty as well. The house made ginger ale is so unique that the taste of ginger is so strong. The best Japanese food in Portland.

I had the vegan hazelnut ramen which came in really rich tasty broth, tasty noodles, but just not enough veggies in there to go with it for me. My side dish of vegan meat and tofu was also delicious minus the rice, I ended up scooping the toppings off the rice into the ramen broth it was that good. Overall I enjoyed the food and experience, the staff are super nice and friendly, the restaurant has a nice modern feel and has a paid parking lot beside it.

Had been waiting a while to try this place, and am glad we finally did! Would have everything but the mabo donburi again (nothing “wrong” with it, just that this Japanese rendition of the dish is too tame for what I want out of mapo tofu). The options for vegetarians/vegans are numerous and delicious, but if you can swing seafood don’t miss the ika karaage. Also the corn fritters were fantastic.

Our first time at Afuri Beaverton and we love the location, ambiance and friendly service. We ordered the Abuhama Roll to share and two ramen bowls, Yuzu Shio and Tonkatsu Tantanmen. I found the spice ratings to be accurate—which is important to me. Nobody likes to be surprised or unhappy with their taste buds! Will is an exceptionally friendly and attentive server who helped us find our way around on the menu and made our lunch enjoyable.

The ramen was so flavorful and fresh! The dumpling thing I ordered wasn’t my favorite but it was fun to try something new! I also ordered the margarita and it was tasty. Overall this is a beautiful place to dine at with friendly staff and a stylish inviting vibe.

The place has good Japanese menu and drinks. It has a modern ambience. Soft crab was tiny for the price. The bread that came with the crab was soft and had great texture. The ramen was pricey for its quality. Their pork tonkotsu ramen uses ground pork for meat, which is makes the ramen subpar. Broth is fine.

I really enjoyed Afuri. The food was very delicious and the service was better than I have gotten in a long time. This was very surprising because they only had one waitress and she was definitely earning her keep. Really sweet blonde gal, with friendly demeanor and comforting vibe. My BF and I ordered the Don Kaarage, soft shell crab bun, pork bun, hot saki, and coconut milk tea for approx $60 before tip. All of it was very good. We were very disheartened that Afuri no longer serves Sushi at this location. Which was the reason we came, but to be fair we should have noticed the name has changed. So that’s our bad. Though, the waitress informed us that the SE location still offers sushi. It’s downtown Beaverton so parking is typical for a down town situation. All in all, I’d go here again, but don’t know that I would make an out of my way trip to go here. It was a quality restaurant with beautiful food and awesome staff.

Very clean place! Next to no wait line for the time we went in (1pm). It took us exceedingly longer to select what we wanted despite the menu being very simple. We knew how tasty things could be and wanted to really check what our desires were from the menu. Finding out that there was a flight of different alcoholic beverages was fascinating and we will definitely need to come back for a night out to sample their drinks!

The staff are great, the restaurant very nice and clean. The food is good nothing I didn’t like. The ramen has a smoky flavor to it which is what the Yuzu Shoyu tasted like. Give it a try and see what you think.
