It was just ok. The food was good but the meat was like jerky and it lacked flavor and they charged $2 extra . We got potato greens and peanut butter spinach soup with boneless chicken and shrimp also corn bread, that was no good. Not sure if I’ll make the trip back

Egusi with Goat meat (more like just fat). In the blue circle is the goat meat and in the green circle is straight bone. After noticing the big strip of fat, I got curious to see how much meat I actually had in there. Besides this, the other items we got was delicious.

VERY authentic food in a fast food style setup. Friendly cashier helped me thru my order, the spicy food is actually spicy, I say give it a try.

We had the spinach stew with rice, and it was fantastic. Spicy is definitely spicy, so be prepared! Definitely want to come back here and try more. I see on the menu they have blackeyed peas prepared several ways, which I love, so I plan to come back and try those. The owner is super-friendly, and I had great service.

“Fufu and a soup that I did not get the name from. Honestly I did not like the fufu. It’s not the texture part but the taste part. It tasted like mash potatoes into a dough consistency. It had no flavor which I already knew but the potato taste through me off a bit. It said in the menu pounded yam which I thought it was gonna be a little sweet. The soup had goat meat which there were good parts and some very strong parts that questioned my life. The taste was like deer which that was interesting. The fufu and the soup together was good and does not make the soup salty and nothing was overpowering each other. The soup itself was salty. The service was so nice and the facility is clean and colorful. Overall I would come again to the place and try something else but I wouldn’t order this again. 6.5/10. This is my opinion and I do encourage people to try it first before making a judgement on the food.”

Wow! We stumbled upon this deli when we were looking at a different place to eat. Having never eaten African food before (aside from a very specific Ethiopian place in DC) we let the man who took our order decide what we should eat. He may have been the owner? He suggested the fufu with rice & chicken and plantains. He gave us a meat pie to try and it was out of this world delicious. We also had Bur (?). It’s was a sweet bread roll that was really yummy. My husband had Jaffe rice with chicken.

Over the course of 10+ years I’ve been eating here, the taste of the food is not how it used to be. The service has and continues to be AMAZING, personable, respectful, and welcoming atmosphere.

Got their Egusi Soup with Beef (SPICY) and fufu: SMACKIN! BUSSIN! BOMB DIGITY! Lol, please try it. I really like how you can add the type of meat you want VS some places already have assorted meat. Definitely will be back to try other entrees.
