Originally constructed in 1885, the fire station was a staple of its community, remaining active until 2010 when it was then used to store equipment until it decommissioned several years later.
The now rehabilitated space has kept with tradition by making a positive impact on its community — and guests. Through craft food, beer, and coffee, A-Side strives to create unique experiences for all those who enter its doors while giving back to the neighborhood that has already given it so much.

Delicious lunch. Very cool setting in an old fire house. It was great weather outside so they had the large doors open. Only docked service because we had to wait a little while to order but the food came out very fast.

One of the oldest fire stations in Saint Paul, this restored building that’s been retro fitted into a brewery + restaurant is truly one of a kind.

Love the open garage doors of this old firehouse in the summer – such a cute little spot! Feels high class, prices aren’t cheap but the food we had was delicious! Good for brunch with your parents or someone you want to impress. Service was a little slow to get us the menu and checks, but we weren’t in a rush so it didn’t bother me.

We came here on this lovely evening to enjoy the fresh air our seating provided and also, the yummy food, of course.

The building itself was a lot of fun to look at. The service was very friendly and helpful. The food was good but the fries seemed to lack a little. The prices were a bit steep.

Super cute place with incredible food. We started with the hummus, and I was very impressed with everything about it. I got squash salad and added chicken and it was fabulous. Very flavorful, but not too much. My children both got the shawarma bowl with chicken and they both loved it. I was impressed with everything we ordered. Our server was the only server on with quite a few tables and she was so attentive, kind, and helpful. We got a fun cocktail with mezcal and it was di favori without being overpowering in sweetness. I will be back!

The A-side public house is a great place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. On this day we broke fast with a delicious Dutch baby, eggs over toast, hash browns and yummy coffee drinks. A side resides in a rehabilitated fire house in a historic Saint Paul neighborhood. The space is well lit, spacious and welcoming. No pretense, high quality. Service was outstanding.

Wow! Another delightful hidden gem of a restaurant. This old refurbished fire station gives up huge space to eat and drink and laugh. The wait staff are simply wonderful and friendly and just lovely. And the food is fantastic.

We’ve been meaning to try this place out for sometime now. It didn’t disappoint. Our server was great. She was attentive and made sure our order got in before a large table she had, so we wouldn’t have to wait. We ordered the A-Side Burger and it was luscious, messy, and good. The mussels were delicious too with all the chopped garlic and capers. The chicken wings were small, but the amount you get isn’t bad and they were tasty. There are other things we’d like to try, but we’ll save them for next time. And since every neighborhood needs some kind of human “watering hole” (even though I don’t drink), this is a good addition to the neighborly watering holes in St. Paul.
