Decent meal on the road between Greenport and Southold. Nice view of the water. The flounder was a generous serving but crust was to have coconut and macadamia nuts but if they were there, they were ground as small as the breadcrumbs, so hard to detect that flavor. Also, the green beans were way undercooked. The Shrimp in grits was fine but for $30 we were hoping for more than just 5 shrimp. Service was great.

Yet another pleasant dining experience overlooking the bay. We lunched here on Sunday to celebrate Greek Easter. Fresh whole fluke, awesome mussels, fish+chips, fish tacos (you see a theme here?), and even chicken. We took advantage of the no corkage fee on Sunday and enjoyed a sauvignon blanc from nearby Old Field vineyard. No surprise that owner Adam is from the hood, Little Neck. Go Queens!

My wife and I picked Alure for 34th wedding anniversary dinner, after enjoying other special events at this restaurant. This time it was a big mistake, service was horrible and the food dry and over cooked. After we placed our order and got our initial beverages we never saw our server until we had finished our dinner. We had planned on getting a bottle of wine and dessert but the waiter had different plans. After reaching out to this establishment without a response I would advise that we have many good seafood restaurants on the North Fork who care about the experience there patrons have.

Simply the BEST place to go on the North Fork to get it all: great location. amazing food, beautiful seaside views, spacious outdoor or indoor seating, and stellar service.

Server was great. Most employees looked unhappy. Especially when entering. Wife’s swordfish was dry, son’s burger was good. I had dozen oysters $38.00 most of them had numerous shell bits, they were like dry shriveled up oysters, not plump, juicy etc… I said something but nothing was done. I also had a shrimp dish that was ok. They should offer a warm lobster roll not just the cold one. Handed a bill over $200, gave 20% tip as usual and gave busboy a $5… He was the happiest most gracious employee. Place could be great if they cared more and invested in fresh ingredients. I won’t be back…

When they first opened and came to town it was delicious, packed house. Since then not sure what has happened.

A friend of ours invited us to A Lure Chowder House . He booked our table on their website and as a result didn’t get to have a choice of sitting outdoors or by a window. If that’s important to you, you must call the restaurant to make your reservation. While our friend was disappointed since he wanted his guests ( us) to have the perfect view, we loved our dinner as well as the service. And even sitting indoors, we still had a view and most importantly, everything we tasted was delicious!

Good luck making a choice. I was torn between the flounder and cod. I went with the cod. Coconut Macadamia crusted cod with sweet potato puree, green beans, and a key lime sauce. Oh boy, was that the right choice. It was delicious and gave me 2 nights of small size leftovers. Mom and I split the crab cake appetizer. It was quite delightful. Buttery soft. Tasted like all crab.

One of the more memorable meals in Southold/Greenport area! The atmosphere (on the water) felt casual and comfortable. The food (coconut/macadamia nut crusted flounder) was delicious and the wait staff was great! Will definitely return.
