What a great find! A bar in an old church. The seating was great and plenty of room. They had some good cocktails too on the menu. I got the lemon drop. It was pretty tasty. I was able to sip and knit in a comfy chair until I got hungry enough to eat next door.

Now that I’ve enjoyed both the dinner menu and the coffee shop, this is definitely a favorite spot to bring visitors. We were a little disappointed that the Sanctuary was out of muffins when we visited, but it turned out to be a blessing, as I shared the charcuterie with my sister, my aunt, and 4 little nieces, and we all felt like it was a great lunch! (Granted, the 8 month old doesn’t eat much.)

Fantastic meal in a beautiful setting with exceptional service… what more could we ask for?! The bread is literally like fluffy pillows, warm and ready to be dipped in EVOO, balsamic & coarse salt. The three-cheese ravioli was amazing… and the homemade lasagna left my husband wanting more (it was that good). We ended our dining adventure with scrumptious tiramisu & a promise to return the next time we’re in town. This place is a must for travelers who want delicious food in a comfortable, interesting setting (such a cool place). Don’t miss it!

As a visitor, I loved stopping by for a latte and also had a delicious dinner here. The decor is great; photos of fat friars merrily drinking. The stained glass windows also adds a neat look.

The Friar’s Fork Sanctuary sets a high bar for any place. A welcome restaurant for Alamosa. Both of our entrees were excellent. Osso Buco Alla Milanese and Italian Brisket and the Fried Cheese Ravioli appetizer. Pinot Gris was also a good selection. A lot of locals come here. The menu is very small and it appears that they take care in the preparation.

A gem in the San Luis Valley! Staff are very friendly and helpful, management checks in on you, and they love to share the story of the restaurant and its provenance. From drinks, to appetizers, to salads, to mains and then dessert, everything was timely, tasty, and a treat for the senses.

Had dinner there tonight 12/31 and it was delicious! Charcuterie board appetizer, Caesar salad and the Italian Brisket. So good. Love the ambiance, it’s classy, great service, chatted with Denise, the owner, and guess what? Looking forward to eating there again. Best spot in Alamosa.

Driving around it was hard to find this place. Good thing google maps helped with this. Tommy was our waiter and he was fantastic. Very attentive to our needs. I love the atmosphere, very unique with converting a old church to a restaurant. I had Chicken Fettuccine for dinner and a Salted Caramel italian ice cream. Everything was delicious. We definitely enjoyed our meal and will return next year when we will be back in town.

A hidden gem! We were exhausted after a day of hiking and camping around the Dunes, and came into town in search of a good meal. This place surprised and delighted us. Generous portions, unique atmosphere and great service. We had the Italian Roast and Lamb Osso Buco, and both were delicious. Would definitely visit again next time we’re in the area!
