This small Mexican restaurant has the best AUTHENTIC Mexican food this side of Texas. The tamales are large and healthy. The beans are not canned. The queso is….OMG! I would have gladly given 5*s but the service wasn’t the very good. The gentleman that was our server seemed like he was in a poor mood or something was bothering him. He was curt when he took our order. He didn’t check on us so I had to leave my seat and ask the counter lady for napkins and more chips. He didn’t check on us after he brought our food. No drink refills. So we just hurried to eat so we could leave. The price we paid was very reasonable, especially for the quality of food. I do recommend this restaurant. I just hope the server has a better day.

Out of the ordinary place for Mexican food. Very much worth the drive. Not in a high rent area, so your paying for good food, not location. Various original menu items too. We left very satisfied. Good place to go if your staying at Cheaha or in town for the races. They have lunch specials until 3pm. Very tasty salsa for chips

I asked them why they didn’t have Margaritas they said they hadn’t gotten their liquor license but some construction company had bought them out so they weren’t going to waste your time getting a liquor license they got to be gone by the end of the month

I don’t know why others are saying this place has good food because my family went there 2 weeks ago and the food was very bland! Very little food for the price and they don’t have a liquor license. Who wants Mexican food without beer? The waiter was an older man who didn’t seem to care if we were there or not. We were brought cold chips and the salsa was thick like it came from a jar you get at the store. The tortilla was cold and doughy in my burrito and quesadilla. Who is leaving these great reviews for them? Family and friends? I eat Mexican a lot so I know good Mexican food when I eat it and theirs is not traditional Mexican. Judge for yourself if you wanna try it but we won’t be back!

From 2011 till 2020 this was an awesome restaurant.. but now the last 3 times Jose the owner has had a bad attitude with me and my kids when we never do anything wrong. He just doesn’t like doing a waiter job or owners job. As we are eatting not our fault if we have to ask for drinks or menus because they do not fill them quick enough. Then when it’s time to go and u need bags for chips, containers for dips or food Jose gets mad and upset because you have to ask him or his son back to back cause sometimes u don’t know what or how many you need at once. So Jose comes to table and screams at me 3 times ago and 2 times ago and thought I would give another time another chance figuring he just had bad nights. I sent my 16 yr old up with cups to fill and bring back when Jose got them filled and Jose came and screamed at me and then i was requesting containers and he screamed again at me. Which is not good business manners. But he made sure no one was in here the 2nd time tonight. I sit in the restaurant 30 mins with card out waiting on chip bag and to pay bill while my 16 yr old went on out to car because Jose screamed at us and us trying to help him….. NEVER AGAIN NEVER AGAIN I CAN’T BELIEVE THIS MAN
