I loved my visit to Hunan Gardens Chinese Restaurant located in the BocaRay Plaza. My friend suggested an early bird dinner and I am always excited to see what she likes. Hunan Gardens is a family owned restaurant that has been in business for over 30 years. The classic Chinese restaurant decor is very elegant and the restaurant is impeccably clean. When I saw that the customers were skewing elderly I knew I was in for a treat because they always know the best places to eat.

4 stars to Hunan gardens. Good soups and chicken dishes. Over average Chinese food. Service was a bit messed up. They forgot spring rolls and ice cream. We deduct 1 star.

We had two combo dinners: Moo Shu Pork and Chicken and Shrimp Delight. It came with Crunchy Wonton Strips, Egg Roll or Ribs, Fried Rice and Hot Tea; also Pistachio Ice Cream. A classic Chinese American Restaurant. Delicious and good service.

This was my first time trying this place and although staff was nice I will not be returning. I got egg drop soup and it was not soup it was literally beaten egg I could not even eat it. It was very thick and I also got Teriyaki chicken which was very soupy and it looked like it was another dish but they just put teriyaki sauce on it. It was not flavorful at all. I even tipped them a waste of 20.00 for lunch.

One star for food is one too many. Ordered appetizer soup two main dishes. Each was almost flavorless. Calling them mediocre would be more praise than deserved. Just moved to this area and Hunan Gardens becomes the first on my Delray Beach “avoid it” list.

Went with friends who rave about this restaurant. It is very busy but I don’t know why.

This was my favorite Chinese restaurant in Delray sadly something has changed and it has really declined. The owner has no interest in listening to your concerns when you are there and having issues. Food quality has gone downhill and portions have shrunk. Proceed with caution if you decide to eat here.

The food was tasteless… the service was terrible. We were there for almost 2 hours. We waited for the food and then waited a long time for dessert and it was excruciating to get the checks. The owner/manager was rude. The restaurant was crowded…a lot of people waiting for tables and coming for pick up. It was chaos… impossible to walk out the door. Clearly they can’t manage the crowd. The people I dined with had been there before and recommended it. But this will be my first and last visit.

This place absolutely sucks! They have the nastiest way of being with their customers. And their food is extremely overpriced for the unpleasant tastelessness and quality that you get. They also try to tell you that you’re “not allowed to cancel your order if you decide that the delivery time is too long.” … lol yeah.
