I was a little nervous going to this restaurant, based on the reviews. This is one of the times reviewers are wrong. I ordered three large meals; two jerk chicken and one curry chicken. The meals were a little pricey, but what isn’t these days.

Ordered the beef patty, and it was very doughy and did not have much meat inside. Still pretty tasteful. Was not expecting to wait 40 minutes for it, but it is what it is ¯_(ツ)_/¯

When we arrived the Open Sign was displayed, upon entering the restaurant the lights were off, when we called out saying “we thought you guys were open”, a woman came out from the back. Then we mentioned that the lights were off, she then came out of the side door and turned on the lights.

I wanted so much to be impressed with The Queen, but I had a disappointing experience. I arrived about an hour after opening, I walked in, the lights were off, I thought they were closed. I walked up to the counter and asked if they were open and two people came out from the cooking area. They were very friendly so I had hopes.

I left a great review before but when things changes, it’s only fair that I do the same. I used to love going there until recently. I’ve order more than 3x and my order get cancelled as I drive down or I go to the restaurant for pick up and no one is there. This was the only Caribbean food around so I was really excited to use them but disappointed with the service provided now. Also pricing is different in person so I hope they change that.

The food was delicious . I went to queen of the tropics on Friday night. I ordered the fried pork, oxtail and fried goat. The food was fresh the rice was on point. I drove over 45 minutes to get to the restaurant and it was well worth it. I will definitely be back to try the rest of the selections.

My ordered was the jerk chicken meal from here and when I got my food the chicken was slimy and tasted funny. It wasn’t jerk chicken with peas and rice like they claimed it was and the rice was sour and the vegetables. You cannot serve people old spoiled food, that’s just a lawsuit waiting to happen.

I had inquired about a restaurant the have oxtail from a friend; haven’t dined here, After reading reviews, I don’t think I will..owners should read the reviews. I never read good reviews, I read the lesser reviews; slimy food, sour rice, portion size. I live about 20 min from you; I’d rather drive to Newark to Just Fish on Washington st.

I ordered online and I was given an old rice which was reheated but it had already gone bad, the vegetables were not fresh or good and plantain was just bad. I was really excited but unfortunately it was just a bad experience.
