really loved all the food we had and we ate outside on the patio. It was nice! the crab cake was awesome I loved the sauce and the cucumber and corn sucatash underneath was amazing with it. the calimari had chorizo in it which just added that extraness that was surprising and just delicious. The lobster roll was great the fries were perfect. I didn’t really enjoy my margarita but my husband loved his drink and that didn’t ruin the experience so still would highly recommend!!

We went to Chapin’s 3 nights ago with another couple…first time for all of us. It was a busy Friday night, and we had an excellent experience. The food varied from good to excellent – we can recommend the salmon and the scallops dishes – and the drinks were very good. The service was outstanding, even on a busy night – friendly, well-paced, and efficient. Best service we’ve had since before the pandemic…would give them 10 stars out of 5 for this! We would definitely return, but one thing to note…there was live music in the bar, and it made conversation very difficult throughout the restaurant. (Luckily there was a long break when we were there.) We didn’t see any notice of this when we made reservations…in the future we would try sit outside to avoid the noise. But otherwise a very enjoyable dinner.

We had a party of 8 and arrived 15 minutes before our reservation. We didn’t end up getting our table until one hour later. Two rounds at the bar made it fruitful for the owner. The table server was excellent but the food fell short of our expectations.

I absolutely loved my time dining in here! The food and atmosphere was incredible. Our server, Julia, was very knowledgeable and recommended the lobster roll! Next time you grab a bite to eat at Chapins- ask for Julia!

I’ve been coming to Chapins for years with my family and it’s always been one of my favorite restaurants on Cape Cod. But ever since they renovated and changed their menu, I’ve been extremely disappointed. They changed their fries from steak fries to regular fries and it was very disappointing and not as flavorful. They no longer have baked haddock or cod and the only cod dish they had on the menu was a fried cod that was tough, not flavorful, and not crunchy enough. All of the food was extremely cold and some of our orders came out wrong. The shrimp tacos are not with fried shrimp anymore either which was disappointing. Part of me likes the renovation/new look but the other part of me misses the comfortable booths to sit in. We love this place so much that we even planned to have a family wedding rehearsal dinner hosted here in the fall. I don’t plan to come back again unless they change the menu and make it better the way it used to be.

Ugh, horrible…so sad. My husband and I used to love coming here. The new decor is so run of the mill wanna be contemporary. The batter recipe for fried foods has obviously been changed, it’s too salty, heavy and just yuk. The bartender was too occupied with her friends seated at the bar to bother checking in on our needs. It was just a very disappointing experience. Why these people felt the need to change things is beyond me. Nothing wrong with the decor or food before. After years of being loyal repeat customers, we will never go back.

I’m sad to report that this is no longer the Chapin’s I remember from growing up. It’s just another Cape Cod rip off now. We used to frequent this place when I lived in Yarmouth. When back in town, I booked a reservation on Mother’s Day for a couple of hours before the Celtics game started. We had planned on hanging out after we ate lunch in the bar for the game. Unfortunately, the full menu was not available. There was only the ‘brunch buffet’ available until 3:30pm and it was $45 per plate. At this point, where else were we going to go? The buffet was very underwhelming, my mother and I each had half a plate, ordered one drink and then left. I’m not even sure if the back bar was open beyond service, nobody was really sitting back there by the time we left. It was a total of $118 plus tip for them to ruin my Mother’s Day experience. The valets seemed more competent than their foreign wait staff, I suggest having them trade positions. The valets were extremely polite and well mannered. My one star is for the valets. Promote them immediately.

We have loved chapins for years, so we were excited to give it a visit this season. To say the least, our party was extremely disappointed in our food and the service. We started off our visit with two appetizers, both of which were fairly good. After our appetizers, our party placed our order. After placing our order, we didn’t see our waitress again until after our food had already arrived. Despite the fact that the restaurant was not busy and four staff members were standing at the counter chatting, no one came to buss our table. Our food arrived, and we had no space to put it. We finally had to get up and wave someone down and ask them to take our plates. Upon first taste, al the dishes at our table were severely under seasoned. We had the shrimp scampi, fisherman’s platter, Atlantic salmon, and the ciappino. All lacked salt. The shrimp scampi was watery and flavorless. By the time the waitress came over to check on us, we had been sitting for a few minutes while our food got cold waiting to ask for salt. After our party slowly finished eating, it was the same scenario. Bussers and servers standing around everywhere, but no one looking up or at the tables around them. To say the least, the experience did not live up to our standards. The service was lacking, with the exception of our waitress who was trying. Though the new interior is beautiful, it cannot make up for the loss of great service and food.

Would give them 0 stars if I could. My family and I have come here every year for the past 25 years and today the new owners said “the kitchen couldn’t accommodate a party of 17” despite us saying we could split in to tables of however many would work for them. Myself and 3 of my siblings have worked here over the past 15 years and we have become close friends with staff and other owners. This is unacceptable and I will never step foot here again.
