In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

I always wanted to try this place out. I drive by it all the time. It’s usually pretty busy, so I thought today. I would give it a shot, I stopped in for lunch. the inside was clean with nicely decorated walls, which gave me a graffiti vibe. surprisingly, I was first in line when I walked in I stood there for a couple of minutes while the young man behind the register had his head down and was on his cell phone a co-worker said to him we have a customer he looked up at me I smiled and said hello I got no smile back or an apology for making me wait. In fact, he seemed very annoyed I was there he then said, “What would you like?” kind of rudely You can tell he didn’t want to be there there was also a young lady with him behind the counter she was OK but you can tell she didn’t want to be there either by the way she responded when I spoke to her about my missing soda I ordered. This bad excuse for customer service already turned me off to this establishment and I would not come back just because of how I was treated but since I was already there I just ordered for the first and last time.

Overall experience was okay. Customer service could’ve been better, the person was kind of rude but maybe they were having a bad day. The food itself was okay, they barely put any slaw in the sandwich and the fries felt dry even with the cheese

The chicken is sizzling good ! Very flavorful and rich with flavors that go well with the pickles. This is Nashville hot style, I supposed, but more robust and fiery ! Those who like it hot will not be disappointed! Try the reaping sauce if u dare!

Holy smokes this place rocks! I ordered online for pick up, and honestly my entire experience was amazing. The online ordering system is very easy, and has a good interface. This Dave’s chicken location is right in front of Ualbany main entrance…a great spot with plenty of parking. Now here’s where it gets good…when I say this I am serious…this might be the best fried chicken I’ve ever had! Tender, moist, juicy and flavorful. I got the spicy chicken sandwich, and the tenders with fries & mac n cheese. The food was so so so good. It came hot, fresh and the sauce that comes with it was very good. Clearly whatever you guys are doing right now do not change a single thing. Very efficient & flavorful business. I will be back anytime fried chicken comes to my mind. Thank you managers & team members.

Chicken was super tender, fries were crisp and tasty. We’ve visited hot chicken joints around the country and Dave’s is up there with the best. Heat levels are lower than Nashville, hot level was tasty but not too spicy if you like the fire.

I absolutely love this new fast-casual spot! Two visits in just over 2 weeks and both experiences were great. The first time around, I ordered at the restaurant, expecting a wait. I was there about 20 minutes, which was a little longer than expected for 1 meal, but not too bad. The 2nd time I ordered ahead online and it was ready when I arrived.

super great food and a super cool environment! Had the hot tender and hot slider, perfect type of spicy! Not the type of spicy to make you uncomfortable and take away from the flavor, which is super good! Came here with friends and had a good time. Although busy, the wait time was no more than 5 minutes and our food all came out right after the other.
