Pork BBQ sandwiches are delicious and ample! The sides are tasty, at least the white beans, greens, and fries. The chocolate pudding pie was delicious, too! The kid said her burger tasted funny, but I didn’t verify. The sweet tea is great! Fairly priced! The place is very quaint and homey, very clean!

Good food. We came with a large party of 11 people. The server was excellent and stayed on top of our drinks. The food took quite awhile, almost an hour and mostly cold fries. I know how challenging larger parties can be. I will definitely trying this place again

Good local BBQ joint. Basic setting with plentiful food at a good price. Fried okra was excellent, fries average and BBQ satisfying. Ribs were good, but the pulled pork had chunks of gristle in it, suggesting that they may have chopped it versus pulling. Average meal price was around $12-13. If you are staying at the Montgomery Bell state park and looking for an eating out option besides the lodge, it is worth a stop. Doesn’t look special when you see it from the road, and while satisfying, it isn’t special local BBQ either.

Good barbecue and reasonable prices. Friendly staff. The sauce was a little on the catsup side, but the pork was so juicy and tender it really didn’t need the sauce. I liked the toasted sourdough bread that came as an option with the pork plate.

Came in for breakfast. I had the Sampler Platter. I couldn’t finish it due to how filling it was. And Wendy…she knows everyone by their first name!! That’s a feel good kind of place to be at for breakfast or dinner.

I’ve not been here for dinner but their breakfast is what keeps me coming back. Nowhere else can you have a big ole country breakfast for such a good price. Great food and great prices.

It was.ok, better than a chain like jim and Nick’s but whenever I hear the ding of a microwave come out of the kitchen its concerning, to find out my bread was over microwaved turned me off. Okra good, ribs good not great, potato salad was a no. I do like that it was very rustic mom and pop vibe. These little meat and 3s are disappearing and they are way better than the chain places that are killing them. I dont want a chain restaurant decorated to be old, I prefer a long time standing eatery that serves their community.

Roadside country barbecue that’s worth the detour off I-40 to find! Generous portions of on-site smoked meat. Pork, chicken and ribs are heavenly. Friendly sassy service with no “You’re not from around here” attitude for this far off the road. Close to Montgomery Bell State Park if you’re camping and tired of cooking for yourself.
