Penny Pizza & Sub was a little tricky to find. Google maps helped out with finding this wonderful restaurant. I was looking for a pizza spot. After I sat in the parking lot reading customers reviews ok google. I decided to go with the Steak Sub. No regrets! Best steak sub I’ve had to date. Fries were good too, even the pink lemonade drink. This is probably going to be my little spot when I come into town.

Got the Italian sub. It was good! However it tasted like a ham sub. The sub bread was amazing! Great crusty texture on the outside and soft bread. The onion rings were good. The ranch dressing seems homemade. I wanted to eat at the restaurant but that wasn’t an option as they are still taking COVID precautions.

Love coming here for the fries but I have to post my recent visit because it seemed a little untrustworthy. But my order came up to 21.64 I paid with a debit and he ask me to sign receipt as I was about to sign I realized it said 31.64 and immediately said excuse me you charged me 10 dollars extra. He looked at the receipt and just handed me 10 bucks in cash. Not saying it was intentional but I just recommend you check your receipts at this place

Though they don’t have as much as the Oakboro location and no seating, the lack of and still up to pandemic policies, it’s almost 2023, guys; time to move on. You will get the fifth star when you have gone back to normal. But the food was great, and they have a lot more than I always thought they did at this location.

To this day, this is still my number 1 spot for a delicious cheesesteak. These are so good that I compare other cheesesteaks to this and none have yet to surpass Penny’s. I’m always picking them up when I’m visting my parents, but forget to take pictures because you have to devour them quickly before the bread gets soggy from the flavorful juices from the grilled meats, onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, and their special sauce.
